France in Talks with Malaysia for Rafales

. .
They're charging the Indians Government $20 Billion for 126 units of Rafales. That's a cost of $158 million (US Dollars) per plane. That's ridiculous and absolutely high way robbery.

Comparatively,

The US F-35IIAs costs $100 million per plane.

China's Chengdu J-10 costs $30 million per plane.

Sweden's JAS 39 Gripen costs $68 million per plane.

You get what you pay for! Cheap Chengdu fighters will last may be a year on the job and will sit on the runway.

I don't think so its right to say that. Chinese military technology has increased in quality in recent years, and it is foolish to underestimate them, now. The Chengdu J-10s are very credible , imho. And are as good as any western counterpart.

Does Malaysian's know this?:o:
If not please send it to its ministry.
Well they know it or not but in case off war in that region they will be far more miserable

F35 stealth fighter is in theory a great attack aircraft that may be needed for US Air force as they are going around the world attacking their enemies. It is not a good defensive fighter but USAF rarely needs one. The need for countries like Malayasia and India which are not interested in attacking other countries is a good defensive or dual-role aircraft. French Rafale is the best for this job. China makes cheap copies of pirated blueprints. It will never produce any fighter that will come close to a Rafale or Typhoon. Period. Finally, Chinese fighters are not tested ever. Buying Chinese fighters is pure gamble and for show only. No country will buy Chinese jets, any generation, if they have they money to buy Rafale or Typhoon. If the money is not there, a country has to settle for a cheap copy.

Not very warm. Question is not if US would allow the sale, but whether Malaysia will trust US for her defense procurements.

Interesting. Were they always this way or is it a result of creeping islamism over the last few years? Malaysia has always maintained very warm relations with Britain so how does that affect its relationship with the US?

It has more to do with US troops stationed in Singapore, US support of Singapore for various regional disputes (islands etc.) and 1997 economical crisis. Please do not bring Islam into just about everything especially when you don't know what you are talking about. Malaysia, like Turkey, is a modern Muslim state where religion is kept at arms length from politics. Malaysia does have warm relations with UK and they are due to historical background. It does not appear if relations with UK somehow affect Malaysia-US relations.

That's fair enough, but I'm not talking from a position of ignorance. The lines between church and state have blurred since the election in 2013.

However, I will accept your answer as being valid.
