The measures include a wide-ranging bill that seeks to prevent radicalisation. It was unveiled on Wednesday, and includes measures such as:

• Restrictions on home-schooling and harsher punishments for those who intimidate public officials on religious grounds
• Giving children an identification number under the law that would be used to ensure they are attending school. Parents who break the law could face up to six months in jail as well as large fines
• A ban on sharing the personal information of a person in a way that allows them to be located by people who want to harm them.

There is a time and place for everything... Europe few centuries back was overpopulated, poor, vengeful and in dark ages.
Europe now is overburdened with debt heading towards a population crisis in mid about half a century... Europe maintained a lifestyle on the backs of poor third world countries... their labor and their resources. Which, now are competing for those same resources... Spain and French may have eliminated Muslims from their midst, colonized and tormented them... but accepting those same people back in Europe after second world War was a necessity, getting dire every generation. Europe of tomorrow with or without Muslims will be poor and crippled... with a baggage of history and a litany of enemies!
Skin heads of today can have Muslims move out of France... and only hope that this resolves their(frances) issues... I tell you what... indian hindus are and perhaps will remain an ally until of course they're themselves a thing, that is.

far from being anti anything, Macron must be lauded for taking the leadership in reforming how Islam is practiced= something all the so called Islamic countries and the religious and political leaders have miserably failed in.
The two primary points that drives these reformations should have been highlighted here !
1) Islam will be practiced as a religion and not as any sort of political movement or state craft.
2) No foreign intervention is allowed.

I see these as necessary principles if Islam is to survive as a globally practiced thing. I'd expect many other countries take point from France on this and follow with similar measures.

The Southern European states have largely not been great powers in the modern era. However, even the great imperial powers like Britain and France are now in steep decline.
