Four most world's polluted cities belong to India: WHO

Go and worry about ship disaster in china today

Yangtze ship disaster: 396 confirmed dead - BBC News

Yes, we do that in China. Whenever a ship sinks, a plane drops, a fire breaks out, or natural disasters at home or abroad, we respond. That's is classified as a disaster, a deadly one, while it's irrelevant to the topic, irrelevant like death by poverty, malnutrition or 40% childhood stunting. You want to discuss civilian health? Let's not derail, I will tag you on another thread.

On topic, are you responding to the deaths caused by pollution in that 13 most polluted cities, where as by the article 155 on every 100,000 are killed, and persisting?

Waste management, sanitation, control of air and water quality should be made priorities by the GOI... however, I know that thats not gonna happen until the people demand it.

Modis recent campaigns have good intentions, but a few people with broomsticks cannot control the waste of a 20 million megacity without a proper waste management department, sewage system etc...

Its just a gigantic embarrassment that a city like Mumbai does not have a sewage system... (which has been used in India thousands of years ago)

If u wanna talk about it, there are already several threads in China section for you to troll and show lack of humanity.
And the first response of most Indians here towards WHO's report is not to learn something but to deliberately troll and derail the topic. Hope India is abundant in such people, I feel sorry for Modi. With such a team, and he wants to change India!
One Chinese saying for you 不怕神一样的对手,就怕猪一样的队友(Don't be afraid of competitors like God, but be afraid of teammates like pigs)

Yes western bashing is common, and normal, indian usually follow up with parrot talks, no surprise. I have no problem with that, please do so, since Beijing ranks 38 on the report by WHO, not a pleasant one.

Given China is the biggest industrialized country (while India being an agricultural dominant economy, severely backward in industrialization and infrastructure, does have such a challenge), Beijing and the likes still need a lot of efforts.

We are not like you people poke every nose and make fun on vietnam, philippines, india, japan, korean threads.By the way we are not pig eaters like you people and better to avoid pig topics, world's biggest pig population is also in china and once you start a topic at least make sure that you are Mr.clean on that topic.

Supa Powa's situation can be described as terrible pollution before major industrialisation.

In other major industrious countries, pollution comes along when massive industrialisation and urbanisation is ongoing. But india is an exception in all big countries, where it comes before massive industrialisation. Japan once experienced it, Germany once experienced it, UK once experienced it, an inevitable phase.

WHO | Ambient (outdoor) air pollution in cities database 2014
Mind that India now can only monitor AQI in just a dozen of cities, while in China we monitor in more than 600 cities. When the attitude is different, you cannot expect many constructive and reasonable comments from Supa Powans here.

Think about what will happen if India's steel production surpasses China's. I am really looking forward when their ambition comes true and the Supa Powa is even more polluted than her current pighome situation.

That's the issue, if you look at CO2 emission it's almost proportional to industrialization say China, US, Russia, Japan & Germany, the only exceptional case is india. Same goes for infrastructure, and consumerism say car sales/consumption (China and US).

If you look at PM2.5 in WHO report, 13 cities out of world's worst 20 are indian, why is that?

What is the background of this website curiosityaroused.com ?
Is this more authoritative than World Health Organization?
Is this supported by data? Post it.

Instead of posting some random sources, let's have a look at AAP database 2014 which have two indicators, PM2.5 and PM10. I think every Chinese know PM2.5 is more harmful to health.
PM2.5

PM10 (harmful when transformed to PM2.5 in human body)

you must be kidding about lahore lol . lahore is very clean and beautiful city you can compare it with your banglore ;)

Bangalore is not what I can call clean.. Trivandrum is. And any goddamn day, my old village is cleaner than them all.

We monitor AQI everywhere in China, in the community, on the streets, in industrial parks. How many cities in India are monitored?

Yes, pollution is everywhere. From CO2 we see heavily industrialized countries China, US, Japan are the major emitters. You have any industrialization data comparison between countries?

On PM2.5 pollution, why the 13 indian cities top the pollution? Where does it come from?

It comes from nowhere, incredible Supa Powa!
China's pollution is due to massive industrialisation and urbanisation. And Supa Powa's pollution is due to being before massive industrialisation and urbanisation. And now China is undergoing industrial reforms, low-end high-polluted industry is moving out and electricity production is becoming cleaner and cleaner.

China is monitoring air pollution as there is a reason for monitoring in first place, mean while india is a late entry in monitoring air pollution.Like saying no body prefer air pollution monitor in forest but do in industrial belt.Indian cities monitored because it is more polluted than rural areas.
