The whole idea of ban based on majority populations' religious beliefs is regressive, what if the Christian majority USA and Europe ban Hindu religious practices, won't that be condemnable? Don't we criticize certain apertheid ME states?

Preciously!! Why would I eat veg food. I am a non-vegetarian.

You are getting the point, but refusing to see the other side of your argument. It's all about equal rights for all Indians on such basic issues. :)

Heavens won't gonna fall if there is meat on the menu too....non-vegetarians are as much uncomfortable with veg diet, that too for four long days, as the vegetarians with non-veg diet. Non-vegetarians are not forcing their food habits on vegetarians, then why should the vegetarians force their food habits on the non-vegetarians? This is nothing but fundamentalism.
thats right i guess we should refrain in making such laws that cant be implemented but i guess maharashtra governt hasnt been that innovative in its approach :coffee:

Not fundamentalism.

This is LNS.
whats LNS:o:

if it is just for four days then not a big issue
Four days is not the issue, the issue is that one group cannot be allowed to force their own pet religious diktats on everyone else. In north kerala it was Muslims who forced schools to stop serving lunches to schoolchildren during the Ramadan fast. So non muslim children were made to fast , this is ridiculous. We cannot have every religious community whenever and wherever they are dictating how other people in their neighbor hood should live.

This is not about four days ban on slaughtering animals,( you can eat meat just not kill.) it is about the principle of people forcing their religious views on to bystanders. Enough is enough.

Little nuni syndrome.

Its an amusing, even entertaining, display as I carve a juicy piece of steak, spear it with my fork, dip it into some thick garlic sauce, a dab of mustard, and then deposit the mass of heavenliness into my waiting mouth.

No. We will simply pay more.

The sight of nasty greens makes my anus pucker up in dismay, even disgust.

Because that's where the unholy mess is eventually going to exit from.

I love baniya food man.

We have a Rajasthani thali place called Sahare, and a baniya place called Mayur.

I visit both with the Mrs once in a while.

Then the deal is that she comes with me to Zamu's or Touche The Place for some sizzler therapy.
