Lt col shair Khan shaheed resident of Mong Azad Kashmir was highly docorated ex british army officer. He was a member of Kashmir Jihad council 1947 against Infidel Dogra Army and founder of 5th battalion of Azad Kashmir regiment. He sold his property located in Punjab to fund his entire regiment e.g uniforms, Ammunition etc.After many successful gorilla strikes Lt col Shair was martyred at Chajja Hill poonch sector on 9th of july 1948. He was a companion of Captain col Shair Khan's grandfather and after his martyrdom Grandfather of captain col Shair khan named his Grandson "Colonol Shair Khan Shaheed".
