That is definitely a fresh approach towards architectural design and its also relevant. May be Islamabad can have a cultural centre, art gallery or a restaurant in that shape. From the satellite, that will look awesome.

So many forts, so many castles... such a rich architectural Heritage from Ancient days to time of the Great Mughals..

Don't know about the need for such new GHQ... but whatever, PA decides.. PA is duty bound to incorporate all of Pak Arhcitectural Heritage...from GB all the way to Gawadar.

Afterall, this GHQ is a Symbol of Pak.

Hopefully, PA will think the significance of National Unity and Pak Heritage while deciding up the final design. Try to think in terms of centuries!

1. All three services in a central location- coordination of activities better(although interference in activities also possible as all of them like having space from each other, especially the smaller two services )

Not sure if any closeness to Civil centers of power will make a difference.

I agree with you on the problematic track records of the past in terms of lack of transparency and corruption in awarding contracts.

My point was primarily that the discussion needs to differentiate (these are two separate albeit related debates) between the justifiable (or not) needs behind relocating GHQ and the lack of transparency in awarding contracts once the decision to relocate has been made.

Keep in mind, shifting GHQ to Islamabad will create massive choas in Traffic btw most rush hours especially morning, 2 and evening. I am stuck @ Ammar Chowk almost daily for hours around 6PM - 7PM everyday from past few days.

Generals, C.Cs, Staff majority infact 99% lives in Rawalpindi. Movement will massively halt the entire traffic infrastructure everyday especially the time span of movement from almost 30 kilometers from garrison. GHQ is not the only thing, the residency of Chief and other high command officers etc, Must say a big deal!

It's not just offices but residential as well e8 was for navy e9 for af and I think e10 for army with new ghq joint staff and mod next to existing af and navy hq in a complete circle to the side of it Che k google

in addition top that more power to the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee as well. All operational plans of all armed forces to be discussed by the committee and approved by the committee, and not individual Chiefs of staffs. Same goes for procurement of new weapons, and development of new doctrines to improve coordination.

Ideally the center of the headquarter should be away from LOC with Kashmir Islamabad is a bit too close to line of control for a strategic asset

GHQ should be located centrally Just my opinion not great choice to put it in Lush gardens of Islamabad
