I think he speaks for himself, I mean multiple US public servants claim to work for god and yet the country is not officially and specifically based on religion.

In the case of Indonesia, it might not be a full blown secular but it is also not a theocracy. So is Indonesia secular? Yes to some extent, and no to some extent as well.

Theocracy like in Taliban government is something new, Indonesia IMO is closer to Islamic teaching since in Islam there is verse saying that there is no compulsion in religion.

Yes, like I said Indonesia as a society can be considered to have religious tendencies, but Indonesia as a state is not necessarily although it is also not secular either. Indonesia is something in the middle now. Perhaps true secular Indonesia would be during Soeharto's reign since hijab is banned in professional settings since it was considered religious symbol and did not rhyme with One Indonesia identity.
