There's no perquisite for being a DG ISI except being a 3 Star General and a recommendation by COAS and PM.
i thought to lead an intelligence bureau one should have experience at least in intelligence- seems like thats not the case-

Not the case really. But a Lt Gen usually accumulates a lot of intel experience during his career. This guy is basically an infantarian and a straight soldier: he will do well and with the amount of briefings he'll take in coming weeks, he'll be a the spymaster.

How come bunch of generals retire same day? Doesn't it go by when they reach the age of 62 something.

Also it's 1st October, I was reading.

1. No, army doesn't have age limits rather they have service brackets for all officers upto brigadier will generals serve on tenure basis. A lt gen servers a 4 year tenure.

2. This wasn't any crisis. Army is a very well organized hierarchy, they can replace any amount instantly.

3. Lt Gens, as stated in (1) serve on tenure basis and are only promoted when a vacancy arises. 4 years from now, we will again have this happening. It's pretty business as usual.

4. Discrepancies occur only in case of resignations which come to fore when Lt Gens are superseded by a junior chief: like Gen Haroon retired earlier than he would have after promotion of Raheel.

Since now he has full access to all intelligence and stuff- i hope he starts by sorting the mess in Karachi-

Well the moment he became Lt General he became DG ISI if in all this time as Lt General he remains DG ISI How many years we are talking about ?

will not happen Karachi is too complex a mess. Karachi will only be sorted out once the top leadership is finished of all stake holders in karachi.

.
Yes, if he is asked to do so by COAS, who in turn, if asked by PM.
thats a messed up hierarchy-
Even after serious threats to Karachi and Pakistan- with conditions worsening day by day- target killing et all- permission is still needed-
