Brother we need some new posters on this news as soon as possible
He is pick of the Government ...not of Military !Have we seen Lt. Gen. Zaheer ever (maybe I missed) speaking on the media? Why would DG-ISI speak on the media? Its not his personality (soft spoken or otherwise) but his position that makes anti-state corrupt politician's pants wet.

Well who were you expecting ?Got to say, I wasn't expecting this.
But Gen Raheel "Bobby" Sharif is making all the right noises, and I fully trust him to take the Army forward in capable fashion.
Next up on the cards, a comprehensive audit of the C4I program implemented by Kayani, his brother's exploits and the construction boom in Pindi. Mark this post, alot of people will be running with their tails between their legs.
Thank GOD Army doesn't have racists like you in themWhat exactly is his background? Like what village, linguistic group, tribe etc? And I believe such aspects should be looked at for such posts. I believe martial races should be given the top army posts. Now a lot of you might not agree with my comment, but remember how General Musharraf(non-martial) had turned Pakistan army into an almost hijra force. I believe he personally feared the terrorists. It was general Kayani(martial Gakhar clan) who restored army's lost glory by inflicting a crushing defeat on the Taliban in Swat and Bajaur.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has appointed Rizwan Akhtar, considered a close ally of the army chief, to head the country's powerful intelligence agency, the military's press wing said on Monday.
The head of the Inter-Services Intelligence spy agency occupies one of the most important posts in Pakistan, at the intersection of domestic politics, the war on militancy and Pakistan's foreign relations.
Although the ISI officially reports to the prime minister, in reality it is controlled by the army chief, General Raheel Sharif.
Akhtar's previous job was head of the Paramilitary Rangers in southeastern Sindh province. He is considered to have extensive experience of counterinsurgency from a previous posting in the border region of South Waziristan.
He will take over as head of the ISI on October 1.

"He (Akhtar) is a horribly straight guy, all black and white," said a serving military official who has served with Akhtar.
"He has served in a place like Karachi while remaining neutral and apolitical and has extensive experience of counterinsurgency and counterterrorism. He was the obvious choice.
