The FSL report, recently submitted to the court, said that the IP address used for the account MacNaught Damini is related to Pakistan.

"This confirms that the accused Ranjith KK was in touch with the Pakistan intel and provided sensitive and secret information through Whatsapp and Facebook," said the report.

The police will file another report with respect to information on the IP address through supplementary charge sheet.

ARRESTED IN 2015

KK Ranjith was arrested in 2015 for allegedly sharing information pertaining to movements of aircraft and deployment of various units, in exchange for money transferred to his bank account.

He has been booked under provisions of the Official Secrets Act.

Ranjith was a leading aircraftman with the IAF and was posted at Bhatinda before he was arrested, following a joint operation by the Delhi Police's crime branch, military intelligence and the Air Force Liasoning Unit.

Bhatinda serves as a front line airbase near Pakistan border and has a very important surveillance unit, according to the officials.

Damini MacNaught claimed to run a UK-based media firm which needed Air Force-related information for an article. The spy entity got in touch with Ranjith on Facebook in September, while he was in a military hospital for treatment.

Ranjith was given the task of getting more information. He shared the secret information though e-mails and internet-based text messaging services.

After the incident, around two thousand Facebook and Twitter profiles of officers and jawans of the army, air-force and navy came under the scanner of the IB, R&AW, military, naval and air intelligence and special cell of the Delhi Police.

VIDEO: Here's the initial TV report, dated December 2015, that was aired to break the news that KK Ranjith had been honey-trapped.
