Foreign link found in Khagrachhari violence, 6 Indians arrested

A senior police officer on Friday said they were certain about the overseas links to the recent violence in Khagrachhari that left a Bangalee settler killed, a private television reports.

At a meeting in Khagrachhari, the deputy inspector general of police for Chittagong zone said six Indian nationals were already arrested in an overnight raid in Khagrachhari following the violence.

He also confirmed that the arrestees were the members of the National Democratic Front of Boroland.

But the police officer did not give any more details about the arrestees.

“We captured eight people so far who were directly involved in arson and looting. We will show them as arrested," the DIG said.

The Chittagong zone police chief also said they had tracked traces of calls made from different mobile phones during the incident and found that financing of the chaos made from Chittagong.

He also said a special drive to capture the culprits behind the incident already started.

I saw in a TV report,In one instance, according to victims, some young men burnt down the places of worship of the Chakma people and then at the same time burnt down a mosque.
The reason is clear,i.e. to instigate a Bengali-Chakma riot.
Let's see what else comes up with the investigation.

Waiting for more updates on this issue.

GOI should reconsider cesefire with NDFB and joint operation from both sides can eliminate this seperatists-turn-anti-social elements. BTW is there Bodo people in Bangladesh too????

Bodo?I don't think so.

There are Chakma people in large number in BD,like in India. They are the largest ethnic group in BD.

.
I should mention one thing to here, that CHT is highly protective and militarized zone, with hundreds of check posts.
They don't usually let foreigners in,unless with pass. For their own safety.

So I think the Indians arrested are Indian Chakmas. They can infiltrate in the easiest way.

.
The area has become insecure after the AL government started removing the army from the CHT. Is India trying to instigate another insurgency in the CHT like they did the 1970's and 80's?

.
Sir,army still has a heavy presence out there. And besides,if I am not wrong, army camps were removed even during BNP,and after that Caretaker Govt. rule.
The army wasn't removed in large number, maximum of one battalion was removed, which is nothing compared to the regiments stationed there.

Besides Army cantonments will remain there always,as per Peace treaty.

There was an instigation,as we see that both Buddhist temples, church and a mosque were burnt by a same group of people. As if to show there was a religious riot, and thus aggravate the situation. This came up on a tv report.

.
The troops removed under BNP were minor but under the caretaker and AL the balance in the CHT has tilted. After the BDR mutiny neither the border gurads or the army is in the best condition. A situation that seems to be being exploited by the Indians.

Munsi has spotted the carcass. Now waiting to hear RAW involvment in that incident.

.
Well RAW did sponsor the Shanti Bahini. Read the book by Asoka Raina titled 'Inside RAW' published in 1983.

.
Daily star just took the news off from their site now. What's the matter here?Is any more site reporting it?

.
Ahhh we knew already.

And then the Indians shout at top of their voice "conspiracy theory"

BD brothers wake up and give them some hard time for their terrorism in BD

Some members read only headline of the thread and jump in. If you have not yet read full post 1, let me tell you National Democratic Front of Bodoland is a seperatist group in assam and involved in fighting with Indian Army for years. In 2003 they were kicked out of their shelter in Bhutan by a joint operation of Bhutan and Indian Army and moved in other neighbouring countries.

Conspiracy Theory???? Yes it is there. Were not we shouting that seperatist groups in India are being sheltered in neighbouring countries.
