For the first time, Indian military officials and diplomats posted in Islamabad attended the military parade held in the federal capital to mark the Pakistan Day parade.
What is the message here?

As far as i know it was the first ever in the entire Indo Pak history, as the same was quoted by the daily "timesofislamabad.com".
The move comes when tensions are high, either its a peace message or they want to show some muscles here.

. . .
particularly today attendance may coincide with Modi message to IK on 23 March.

.
Message is we want to improve relation with India, as India is permanent neighbor. Western countries already don't want to see us united even during partition they used partition for their own benefit.
Peace is the only way to move forward.
Pakistan is front line state on war against terrorism, we lost 70,000 + for fighting it. We lost 75+ billions dollars in this war. Terrorism damaged our economy so badly as well, but we continue to fight against terrorism. We condemn Extremism,& terrorism .

.
But their participation today is clearly a message either Mr Bajwa wants to show that he wants peace or there are reports of harassment of diplomatic staff from both sides posted in each other’s country.

.
They were invited last year or the year before last.
This is old photo.
Atleast confirm before posting.

.
This year no Indian official attended the parade. Last year they did participate in the event.

  • Pakistan Day parade in Islamabad on March 23.*

The high commission in a statement said that no representative of the Indian mission will attend any government ceremony tomorrow (Saturday).

Pakistan as host country invited the Indian diplomats according to the diplomatic tradition to witness the Pakistan Day parade here.

Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Muhammad will be the guest of honour at Pakistan Day parade tomorrow.

Indian defence attaché and senior diplomats had last year attended the parade on invitation of the Pakistan government.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Indian government also decided not to send any official representative to attend the Pakistan Day celebrations scheduled to be held at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi today.

According to Indian media reports, the New Delhi government decided not to send its representatives due to Pakistan high commission’s invitation to Hurriyat Conference leaders in the ceremony.

The development comes on the back of Pulwama attack in occupied Kashmir on February 14, which killed more than 40 Indian CRPF personnel.

The sabre rattling by Indian government and violation of Pakistan’s airspace by Indian fighter jets On February 27, was resulted in dangerous escalation of tensions between the two countries. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) struck down two intruding Indian fighter jets and arrested one pilot, who ejected himself after being hit in the airspace of Pakistan in Azad Jammu and Kashmir — something that came as an unexpected setback for India.
