No, because under 2006 U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, paragraph 15, member-states have the right to employ their naval and air forces to interdict Hezbollah's training and resupply efforts, and under post-9/11 UNSC Resolution 1373 member-states have the binding sovereign obligation to eliminate terror bases on their territory; failure to comply means no grounds for sovereignty violations when another member-state attacks terror targets, or is on a "routine operation" to do so.
When un categorized Hezbollah as terror group.
And there is the small matter of
The Lebanese government claims that Israel has violated the resolution over 7,000 times "by crossing Lebanese airspace," waters, and border on an almost daily basis since the implementation of the resolution.[38]

And also unifel, un and France that provide the bulk of peace keeping force in Lebanon several times affirmed that its Lebanon duty to disarm any armed force in Lebanon not anybody else.

Good for Israel. The USA should have destroyed all of Assad's anti-aircraft capabilities four years ago.

S200 has a nice range that can cover a huge chunk of area but it has a glitch of being a static system that is visible and can be attacked by cruise missiles from long range. These batteries are generally the first targets of nato-usa air operations to soften down defenses as was the case in Libia.

It can still have its use if it is coupled with shorad batteries to fend off low intensity cruise missile attacks but considering several years of the war shorad batteries supplied by Russia and Iranian variants were not very capable to stop even low intensity attacks against airbases. They were either undeployed or needs further improvement. Both countries especially Iran that uses extensively S200 derivatives need to test their systems to varying degrees of cruise missile attacks by using their own cms.Range and altitude is not much important for these systems but effectiveness and multiple engagement capability

Another threat for potential attackers are highly mobile systems like Sa 6 and panstyr and their Iranian Chinese clones. They have short range but sufficiently high altitude to engage aircraft and drones then run away close frontlines. They have low energy radars which can be coupled with decoy low cost fake emitters to confuse.

Neverthless it wont replace much of a capable airforce which Syria cant get for a long time but without sams it is like a boxer fighting with its guard down. You need to evade and punch as the guard wont hold long against punches but you still need it always up if you dont like taking punches to the head.

Get missile code ..otherwise these batteries are sitting duck.

ahahahahaha........... that was epic. i like that.:enjoy:

They purposely only destroyed the fire control radar, which can be replaced, cause of the relations with Russia.
Russia was told about the incident in real time.
yes, i thought so too. Good to see Israel working in coordination with Russia's syria, since Putin is basically the one in charge of Syria now more than the actual Syrian government(or what is left of it. lol ).
