Actually, AV-8 is improved version of PARS 8x8x8. You know Last year, FNSS was signed an agreement with Malaysia worth 500+ million $ to design AV-8 and supply 200+ vehicles with Malaysian partner Deftec.

Now, FNSS is preparing to announce a new agreement regarding the sale of PARS 8x8x8 design to an Arab country worth 1+ billion $.

Different than a new 8x8x8 design based on New Pars 6x6, I don't suppose any changes in subsystems...

Malays did a smart choice, they can follow the Georgian path and design their own APC with ToT coming from Turkey. A win-win situation for all.

FNSS's main rival is also another Turkish institute in Domestic and International market. You know Otokar ARMA 6x6 and PARS 6x6 were competing with eacother in Turkey but As far as I know Tender is cancelled cause of changing requirements of Turkish Land Forces. Same institutes are competing in UAE tender as well.. Both institute exported their vehicles to international markets before being produced for Turkish Army.

hi not about this but can i ask to cabatli why turkey dnt have any air to air fighter , dnt we need f-15 or any air to air as far as i know f-16 isnt that good at air to air compared to f-15 it seems like we have a big stack of f-16 nd not many diferent ones

FNSS and OTOKAR are two bloody rivals in Turkey and Undersecretariat of Turkish defence industry meets big difficulties to seperate the defence programs by those two institutes.

Step by step achievements,

FNSS opened biggest R&D building with hundreds of R&D engineers working on just land technologies to declare itself as Land vehicle excellence center, While Otokar opened one of the biggest Tank and Land vehicles test center of Europe.

Otokar produces Cobra vehicles for Turkish Army and Main Battle tank of Turkey will carry Otokar signiture, While Amphibious assault Bridge and Amphibious Work Machine program go to FNSS. Last year, FNSS awarded to develop a new 30 tonnes AIFV to be used for air defence missile programs.


Last years, FNSS signed an agreement with Aselsan to develop unmanned turret to be used on all Land vehicles of Turkey but Otokar didn't step back in competition and developed a new unmanned turret called Mizrak-30 as an alternative of FNSS turret.
