What's new

Five million Chinese will be working in Pakistan in next four years

Pakistani non-Muslims can eat pork. It's not that sensitive.

All the non-Muslims, whether Pakistani or foreigners, can eat whatever they like and drink as well. Most of the good hotels have bar rooms, where these people can go. For Pakistani non-Muslims, there is a monthly quota of local alcoholic drinks, they can get from prescribrd places. It is all legal. Similarly, embassies can import liquor for their internal consumption.

How do you identify non-Muslim from a muslim? Do Pak ID cards have a section for religion?

The original source for the prediction is 'The News' outlet based out of Pakistan. India times has credited the source for prediction on the very first line of the article.

Here is the source. Take what you will from the prediction.

you can do anything in Pak if you do it in private or in places reserved for partying etc
Just don't attract attention from local population if you are doing taboo things

I have watched some vlogs, which were taken by Chinese or Pakistani in Pakistan. I feel that the religious atmosphere in Pakistan is quite different from place to place.

Interesting discussion about the consumption of Pork in Pakistan. Seems like it is illegal as per the Al-Jazeera article below. But the authorities in Pakistan may not be enforcing this regulation rigidly.

In a small south Punjab district (backwaters of Pakistan type place- like consider it Lafayette Louisiana of Pakistan) my brothers friend told us when they had a serious boar problem ruining their crops

they would pick up a gun every 1-2 days a week and go boar hunting on the way drop a boar to a Cristian community or they would come and take it

Most laws about guns and private lives in respect to religion in Pakistan are mostly on the "books" but due to cultural/ historical reasons, GOP cant enforce these laws

Like these guys have been doing this for decades how are you going to stop them?, nor I think larger public cares enough to make sure gov enforce these laws

No. ID card has no identification of religion. There must by some other way of certification, about which I don't know. What I know is that an adult non-Muslim Pakistani can obtain a "Permit" for liqour, of max 6 "Units". 1 Unit is equivalent to 1 bottle of hard liquor or 1 carton of beer per month. They can get these things from prescribed places, but only locally produced.

Just curious, shouldn't there be Pakistanis working in majority of these roles and learn to do things themselves? 5 million is a very large number and what it's saying is that the Chinese won't do transfer of knowledge to the Pakistanis. Usually, it's 80-20 percent. 80% Pakistanis working under the 20% Chinese to learn and execute tasks. There is no other way to build the Pakistani economy if the lower classes aren't brought up to the middle class standards.
Our people had their chance for over 70 Years. If they couldn't get the job done, I don't see them doing it for another 30 Years.

I see no problem if we have China help us get on our feet. Sure there might be resentment from some - but I suggest those individuals take a look slightly to the West of Pakistan. Those Nations didn't build an Economy by having their people pumping gas at a Gas Station, nor did anyone work building highways or skyscrapers.

I'm also in favor of us building Air Bases for China near the Eastern Border. That'll give a clear statement to our good friends in the East.

China would have not been bringing their workers here if large number of Pakistanis were skilled enough.

I can understand this in the beginning. But many short courses can be offered to train Pakistani labor like crane lifters, forks, bigger trucks and other heavy machinery etc., etc. It would make sure billions revenue stays in Pakistan. Vocational training is always one of the most critical things that takes place during infrastructure expansion. These Chinese labor aren't all PHD's, majority of this is labor class with experience, something the Pakistanis can learn quickly too.

Your flag tells me you are in another country, same issue like the rest. I either seem to encounter the top 20% of Pakistanis who can afford everything, or, the one's gone outside, studied and learn a trade and can afford everything.

I am having serious trouble comprehending this. The US during economic expansion opened up a lot of technical and vocational training institutes, that's still the case today. A GOVERNMENT is responsible for ensuring for future projects in the pipeline, there is training being provided to the local population to bring their income level and overall GDP up. The government advertises and ensures there are incentives. There are millions of Pakistanis working in ME oilfields, to flat out say that these people can't acquire a skillset if taught, is an insult to he honest.

Although the Chinese presence has increased due to construction and manufacturing projects but I dont think it will rise upto 5 million at max I expect 5 lakh and that too during peak

Its not illegal to eat it for non Muslims but the sale of it is illegal

Here is the source of this dubious report all "independent" Indian state propaganda mouthpieces are parotting in perfect sync. Not sure which article exactly but they say almost the same.

The author M. Waqar Bhatti claims that these claims come from Vice Chancellor Health Services Academy (HSA) Prof Dr Shahzad Ali Khan

He also posted the claim on his Twitter account

The only claim about "millions" that is actually cited from Prof. Dr. Khan, refers to not just Pakistan but also Afghanistan and other Central Asian States

“In order to meet the health needs of millions of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asian States, we need to have specialised health facilities, based on both modern and traditional treatment systems. This can only be achieved by enhancing collaboration between Pakistani and Chinese health institutions under the China Pakistan Health Corridor,”

But even that seems off... might be a mistranslation/miscommunication from 5 lakh to 5 million. You might just ask him yourself.
