If PRC waits too long, China might be united under the banner of ROC. WIth rising incomes, support for democracy will rise.
Sorry, unlike Brazil natives, we never been colonized before, we been defeated like all European countries have before and we had victories, yea look it up. BUT we were never colonized. At most parts of our country was like Vichy France and other such countries.
We don't feel a strong urge to emulate your colonial masters. Our system today is Chinese, and it is changing, in the end it will be a Chinese system.
Also don't talk about things you don't understand, Mainlanders are being looked down upon in HK and Taiwan, yes, but the reverse is also true. Any protests from HK has been met with strong public opinions in Mainland for harshly crack down on HK, due to the insignificance of HK to the grand vision of China. More so by the day with 12 new cities having similar legislation to HK.
As to Taiwan, Mainlanders will not bow to Taiwan, they are a small island people, not recognized by countries with even half a brain. There are always threads on the military forums frequent that laughs at Taiwan "military."
BTW, if we were do go full on democratic like all those that seems to "want." India, Taiwan, and ASEAN watch out, because the only reason we haven't marched our modernized army across the borders to inflict pain and humiliation is because the CCP is holding back.
US never holds back, because it is democratic and it could. We could, but our government base more decisions on rationale rather than minority interests and glory for reelection, Bush, Saddam. *cough* *cough*
Nobody in mainland takes Taiwan seriously. The chance of RoC taking over mainland is essentially zero.
Essentially zero? What's that non zero chance? Everyone in Mainland dead?
