Not sure how far it will go but a similar angst against a " trade deal ", but this time against China is playing out in another country.

Just like a majority of Ukraine's who did not want a trade pact with Russia, Taiwan has seen an escalation of riots about anti china trade deals in the last few days.

for those who do know of this news you can find it here

Well, considering that some of the "protestors" and "students" are seen reading script from cellphone screen. I would say the biggest difference between the Ukraine and Taiwan is that the stooges in Taiwan is significantly less well paid or just bad.

.
The significant difference is that Taiwan is not recognized as a country, not by any major country (including the US and India JayAtl), and not by the UN, and not by international law.

In any international organizations or events, Taiwan uses the name "Chinese Taipei".

Most importantly, Taiwan is not recognized as a country by Taiwan's own constitution and government.

Whereas Ukraine is recognized as a sovereign nation by pretty much all the countries of the world, including the UN, international law, and their own constitution.

Doesn't matter now though, it will take until at least 2025 for China to consolidate enough power to be able to take back Taiwan with limited economic damage.

Taiwan cannot escape from Mainland's clutches, their economy is more dependent on Mainland more than ever and they ain't no match for our military power. If China wants to break free of this island chain, possessing the island is our priority and it's getting closer when our J-15, J-20 plus the Naval forces are ready. There are plenty of options to apply from economic damage to military invasion. Riots in Taiwan? Give me a break these students ain't gonna change the islands fate, it's destined to rejoin Mainland under PRC rule.

I don't understand why Chinese people cant understand !!!
Its not about Taiwan. USA doesn't care if its in China or outside China. Unification by force is only giving a chance to USA to damage China economy 1. by actual retaliation from Taiwan ( no open US involvement so you cant go war with them ) taking out 4/5 big cities is damage enough.
2. Economic sanctions. Cripple export oriented economy.

The best solution would be goodwill inside Taiwan and creating desire in them to join you otherwise in case of war few yankees and their supporters in Taiwan with few hundred BMs can create a Nightmare. Will it worth it !!!

Why do you guys want to take back Taiwan ? i mean instead let them be the way they are and by 2025 work on improving relations with them after all they share the same blood so they themselves will want to reunite as a province of China.

Am i missing anything ?

It's the unfinished Chinese Civil War.

Reunification might be peaceful, like it was with my own city of Hong Kong.

However, after 2025 we need to reunify, and the ROC politicians might still be far too stubborn like they are now.

By then, our military will be far too overwhelming for them, and we will have Chinese patriots within Taiwan turning over all their military equipment to us, like Russia did in Crimea.

There is a limit to how long the ROC, who claims to be the true representative of China, can support Western interests against their own motherland. 2025 is the year in which the choice will have to be made.

Chinese Military is already too much for Taiwan but i just wanted to suggest that if you can win the hearts of the people then half the battle is won. All you will need is to hold a referendum and annex the country.

I always wanted a peaceful reunification, but I don't know if that is realistic considering the politics of the ROC.

It must be done one way or the other.

As to how much we are willing to sacrifice for Chinese reunification, the answer is a lot. The only thing that could stop it is global nuclear war, and who is willing to do that for Taiwan which they refuse to even recognize as a country?

2025 is the year. They have over a decade to think about it.

The exception is if they try to acquire nuclear weapons, which would lead to an immediate intervention, as per our policy.

If PRC waits too long, China might be united under the banner of ROC. WIth rising incomes, support for democracy will rise.

@Beidou2020 What you have to say about this??

1989 will tell you how we deal with those Mickey Mouse democracy thugs.

Even in 1989 I still think the CPC was WAY too soft in dealing with those students. If I was in charge, not a single one of those protestors or their families would ever see the light of day.

Not a military on this planet is powerful enough to defeat the PLA (yup, that includes the Yunkees which got spanked in the Korean War).

Despite US is ahead of China and Russia, your America couldn't do sh!t about North Korea other than sending some B2 patrolling the area. After China said no trouble in our doorstep Kerry announced that the US might have made things worse. So much for a planned invasion. Same with Georgia in 2008 and now Russia got Crimea back, so what's the US doing sending some warship to the Black Sea? Just to show us how might you guys are but no guts starting a war with Russia? Yup go brag about US technology superiority that's all there is to it.

Georgia, crimea and N korea are not part of NATO. While Hong kong and Taiwan are part of china and you cant do jack over there. alternatively without doing much we have georgia and Ukraine going pro america and S korea being part of NATO.
