these a/c are not new but are used aircraft which have undergone a complete overhaul - these are not leased but have been purchased outright ATMI.

According to PAF personal from chaklala who i talked to said that PAF is only leasing them. Last year 2 il-78 without pakistani flag came here for testing and evaluation and were sent back.

Its kind of weird, PAF is going for IL-76 and IAF has purchased C-130. Looks like both Air forces likes what the others have...

2010 is going to be one NICE year for PAF, First JF-17 squadron, F-16s, Refuellers, AWACs, with F-16s comes the BVR capability.....whoooo hooo.

If it is leased then it must be finance lease. Like you pay in installments and get the ownership.
