Come on, consider this: Vietnam is a poor country with desperate people wanting to make a living by selling cars to other countries. You don’t want to see hungry Vietnam kids to go to bed, do you? Buying Vietnam cars wil increase your friendship to Vietnamese people. Importing one million cars for a rich and huge country as China isn’t much.

18k is the price for Vietnam buyers. I expect the selling price for China is much lower.
I feel very sorry to the VN customers. They have a much lower income, but need to pay much higher than others.

Come on, it is your beloved german friend viet that start to brag that "the cars will be sold in China". He initiated this topic, hence it is very natural for others to make comparison with Chinese cars to test the winning chance of this vn car.

The problem is they don't even aware of it... Those car companies are blood suckers while they cheering for them...
But the german guy does not care. He knows he himself will never pay for this vn joke. But this cannot stop him to urge others who live and work in vn, with a tiny income, to buy this joke.

Well, if Japanese or German car makers are PhDs, Korean ones are masters, Chinese ones might just have graduated from college.... But vn, WT...F.... has yet to attend kindergarten ... And claim to perform better than a college graduate academically...

The next day, a guy from, say, Zimbabwe or Somalia, will claim to make the best quality cars in the world by hiring someone to make a shell and put some old crap into it.. because they have never made a car before....:rofl:

It uses some 10 year old technology but sell at a price comparable to the authentic BMW with the latest technology.... What a joke...

So they don’t export any for that reason. It’s world’s largest auto market by a big margin.

Not to interfere or anything, but....

1.) Don't you think your statement I quoted is 'a bit' insulting to Vietnam and the Vietnamese themselves? Even tot the product itself? You are practically insinuating they can't sell their products the normal way that you had to resort on guilt-tripping others...

2.) You are indirectly agreeing with those you are arguing against; That the car has no competitive edge besides, what...the emotional thingy you mentioned...

Again, I'm not in anyone's side, here. But please, please...for once don't be EXTREMELY defensive. Especially if you might gain something from the conversations, i.e. the advices and cautions some of the above posters provided.

This vietnamese clown don't know anything about experience accumulation... When you get a huge consumer or customer base, you test your product, and you receive their feedback, and the quality of your product gets improved. This takes time, at least 20 years, because the replace cycle of cars generally take more than 10 years. And cost is another factor determining if you can sell your product, there is something called C/P ratio, people will always consider when buy something, (and there is a misconception that make things cheap is easy, but in reality, it takes a lot of effort, e.g. through R&D, and economy of scale, to lower the costs.) this idiot also try to ignore this.
For a new player, except if it can bring a revolutionary product, e.g., an EV with 1,000km range at reasonable price will change the game... but for this vinfast shit, it just put together some old crap and want to charge insane prices, it will die... (there is a sad thing about these vietnamese companies: they have got no choice, they do not enjoy a huge market like Chinese companies, and they do not have technology, for example, they can not compete in EVs because they have no cost effective batteries... etc.)... I can not find a reason that this company is going to survive...

The tone sounds like begging, which is definitely an insult to vietnam, but I guess you do not care such an insult to a country that you do not work and live in.

The good thing is you at least agree with (in an indirect way) the point from me and @Kai Liu that the vn automobile is joke and with zero competence, hence begging is the only feasible way to marketing and sales the car.

This VF company cannot possibly be successful unless it changes its entire business structure. No company on this planet has ever moved to high end within a few years of starting and gaining experience. Every single one of those companies started somewhere humble and servicing the mass market with entry level products. Always. Even if let's say this is a good quality car using previous generation of german technologies and actually worth in material the costs. Even with good design that people love and great engineering. Brand power status is still the most important. People in China, Germany, USA, Russia, Japan, Vietnam, anywhere... always obey brand status and ranking level even if not true. Thanks to marketing and brainwashing of consumers all over the world, we only worship brand name first. VF needs to recalculate and work out a way to make good use of hardworking Vietnamese spirit and cheap labor cost to make a good quality car for cheap. At the moment, they are positioning themselves with solid Japanese and American competition with equal quality but lower image. How is it possible for them to win outside a nationalisitic market? In China, Chinese will have no emotional reason to support it.

Okay maybe in Vietnam many people will support it and buy it because it is equal quality to those competitors, which is already an assumption. These people will not care about the brand image. But how many Vietnamese can afford this? What is the real size of the market? Wealthy nationalistic vietnamese who want to support their country's industry. Probably only five digits of people and even then, most will probably still convince themselves not to do it. I like their designs of the expensive sedan models. But car industry is so competitive and the next big thing is all about EV at least in China it is. Another reason this cannot sell well in China is because we are moving to electric. Unless VF comes out with new electric, no one can buy them without making loss.

Do you sincerely believe a company with zero car making experience in CBU (assembly of CKD parts is not counted here), is able to come out with two high end models in such short time on their own R&D, even if they have help from Italian designer and foreign consultants?

Truth is they bought designs of previous model of BMW cars (BMW 5 series and BMW SUV CX5), face lift by Italian designer, and touted as their own. Underneath the skin, engines and transmission gears etc etc are all foreign parts. Only the minor parts like panels and maybe the chassis are stamped in Vietnam, with sheet metals maybe or maybe not made in Vietnam.

My previous post was meant ironic. Come on, you both should have noticed it.Vietnamese have humorous people, we usually don’t take everything too serious.
