First Iranian Active Protection System (hard kill) successfully tested on Zulfiqar tank

According to a high ranking official in Iran Electronic Industries Co. (SAIRAN) involved in the yet unnamed project, first Iranian Active Protection System has been installed on a Zulfiqar tank and successfuly tested, destroying an incoming RPG rocket.

According to official, 2 versions of system are developed, first one uses a Pulse-Doppler radar (which was used to track and destroy the RPG rocket). Second version uses a Phased Array radar which is already developed and ready for tests.

Also important to note, the AP system uses a firewall approach, providing 360 degrees of protection on all sides of the tank.

Unfortunately no pics or vids are out yet as the project is still unfinished, but we will indeed hear much more about this and pictures and videos will be released eventually. This is a huge achievement. There was already various rumors regarding this project in the past, but it's the first time that it is officially confirmed and not only its first prototype is developed, it has been successfully tested too.
