First China trade convoy of CPEC arrives in Pakistan

Pakistan welcomed first Chinese cargo truck marking the operationalisation of the $46 billion China-Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC).

Reports said the trucks will reach Gwadar port that is the centre of the CPEC project between Beijing and Islamabad.

A Chinese convoy has already reached Gawadar where it was warmly welcomed.

Work is underway on other CPEC-related projects, including Karachi to Hyderabad M9 motorway.

The railway component of first CPEC Trade Convoy has started its journey along Eastern Route from Lahore.

A deep water container terminal, also called South Asia Pakistan Terminal, in Karachi will be inaugurated soon.
