My foot, the government report is from mid 2016 and the press report is from December 2016 so in 6 months local content increased from nothing to 80%? Don't worry about how we do things in Pakistan we are not perfect but in defense production and acquisition we definitely get better bang for our buck than India. A tipical tank regiment has 4 Sqn Each having 11 tanks so 44 not sure what is 21 tank unit means unless for Modern tanks they have changed it

3 prototypes were built in 2009 to test the improvements. Shortage of funds during PPP govt & delays in engine contract with Ukraine forced HIT to start SBP in 2013 instead of 2011.

The first unit of Al-Khalid 1 MBTs has been formed. The unit has 21 tanks. Four more Al-Khalid 1 units (each with 21 tanks) are in the procurement pipeline. Small batch production started in early 2013.

300 Al-Khalid's were built from early 2000's till the end of 2012.

If 300 AlKhalid already produced then they should upgraded to AlKhalid-1 standard and easily form 14 unit comprising 21 MBT each.
So if that utilized we could see 15 AlKhalid-1 unit.
