Are you a young engineering professional who just started his/her career?

1. Who said anything about applying anything to the public? Privately owned businesses are responsible for their own management. Maximising profits whilst decreasing costs should be the aim of all businesses and how to do so is the domain of thier peers not of government.

2. Why should lean processes be limited to engineering? They are widely used through industry to improve efficiency.

Pakistani people need to stop thinking the government is responsible for making money. They provide a supportive environment - you have to do the rest.

Go to your local tyre shop. Does the guy changing your tyres use a pressurised drill or does he manually loosen and tighten them. If he does it manually he is wasting his own time and money. He is I efficient and is not earning as much as he could and ultimately not paying as much tax as he could.

If you are Malik Riaz does it make sense for you to have one size door frames, doors, hinges, handles on all your internal doors on the thousands of villas you build every year? Or do you let the architect responsible for each build design them and aquire bespoke products for different builds? I don't know about the rest of Pakistan but in Mirpur AJK, I've never seen two doors the same.

Lots can be done on a micro and macro level to do that. There are hundreds of examples per business.

A few simple examples of the top of my head...

- e governance to reduce paperwork to setup businesses and streamline taxation.
- automation instead of manual effort
- e-commerce platforms to access larger markets.
- use of modern farming techniques to increase yield.

- standardised sizes for dresses

-standardised sizes for doors in residential properties.

Basically we need to unleash an army of lean 6 sigma practitioners across our industries.

It's a private and public effort.

May I take it a step further and implement the international ISO standard in all big and medium sized companies.
when you produce products according to a known standard, both internal and external markets buy your products.

Let’s take agriculture as an example. Our cotton per acre yield (productivity) is around one half of India and one quarter of China. Similar for all major/minor crops.

Like @313ghazi said. If we reach average productivity in these produce over next few years, we will see double digit growth.

All these if brought to world average can result in double digit growth.

And how does one reach average productivity given all the inputs to agricultural production or labor productivity? All of that requires investments and education over decades, and is definitely not an easy task.

I share your sentiment. What angers me are the overseas pakistani bitching on how pti is the best and we all deserve N league and PPP. It's easy for them to say this while they are earning in dollars and we are struggling to make ends meet.

Depends upon your defination of screwing

If your defination of screwing is low growth rate & inflation to fix the current account deficit and debt sustainability caused by nawaz sharif then you should vote for maryum nawaz and bilawal and get high growth at expanse of high debt & high CAD resulting in inevitable crash

I am not going to talk about what future growth will PTI achieve as its worthless to debate with middle class and rich elites

I am on trip to pakistan and from the 1000s of people i met my conculsion is that poor class is actually more satisifed then middle and rich class educated class but the poor class have their doubts due to constant complaining of middle class.

Therefore real problem as thrown by common people is not the poor class voting but rich and middle class
