Rawalpindi: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will be inaugurating Islamabad International Airport on 20th April, 2018, according to a news report. For this, all preparations are underway in collaboration with the private sector.
On 19th March, a thorough rehearsal was carried out for various software, boarding, visitors’ checking and scanning, and security measures at the airport, to which the Civil Aviation Authority expressed its satisfaction.
Offices on the airport are also being shifted, and the shuttle service for passengers will begin its operations on 15th April. Apart from this shuttle, which will be for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, various other public transportation facilities will also be given routes here. Residential blocks of the Airport Security Force in the airport premises will be completed on 31st March. In the first week of April, Airport Security Force will formally take charge, after which all airline offices, banks etc will also be subsequently shifted.
