That is kinda the point I was making, with possible TOT production of a western aircraft in India and the less than desired pace of induction of LCA MK1A (there is still ongoing development of radars and other systems), the IAF might be better off sticking to the home built foreign aircraft and use the technological lessons learnt from the LCA and the foreign aircraft TOT into their fifth generation aircraft development. Turning into quite a hodge podge of multiple platforms. Right off the bat the Tejas is no match to the eventual MRCA winner whether its Gripen E or the F16IN, though I appreciate the fact that cost would be an issue but factoring exports from the newly established facility and higher capability of aircraft should mitigate some of the issue. Still struggling to with where Tejas fits in the grand scheme of things for India.

India is brilliantly equipped with a huge fleet of Flankers

AND soon Rafale with Mirage2000/5 medium weight multi rolers.

WHAT india now needs is 200+ light weight fighters of low cost

ie the 3rd tier if the IAF and in nos.

TEJAS FITS this RUNG superbly

INDIA does not SU30MKI and SUPERMKI and Rafale & F16/IN/GRIPEN E

its over kill for the threat

Besides the PAF, the rapid pace at which China is developing its air force capability Id say you guys need the MKI and Rafale and then some. The fact is on top of that the MCRA program is reestablished with a requirement for 200+ single engine fighters (with TOT), don't see where Tejas fits in this scenario.

In 30 years there are Zero, in next eight there will be 125 without IAF ordering any.

Your doubting the ability of india to build 125 planes in 8 years.

That's india thst has license built 190 flankers in 12 years

Or over hundreds of Jaguars and mig21s for over 25 years.

Thorough Pro might have been a little too combative in his comment but your answer back to him is comparing apples to oranges. Building license built aircraft is a whole different ball game than trying to build an indigenous aircraft. The issue here is if the MCRA program takes off and India is on schedule to churn out "license" built Gripen E's for instance where does that leave the Tejas.
