Fetih 1453 Film

you compare hundreds of millions of dollars movie with just 17 mil budget turkish movie ?

I actually made stupid comparisons true, since their budget is much higher. But as Silko said it is not so much about the special effects etc. it is more about how the story is developed in the film. You can't find many original plots in Turkish movies, except a few, but if we have to take American movies like American History X, Leon, Greenmile, The Pianist, Memento etc. these movies are all very low budgeted but the way in which the story is told, plus their originality puts a very nice flavour which makes the movies actually enjoyable, most Turkish movies today lack that. It is made so that they can catch the publics attention (the publics taste is already very low since they have been fed a very bad series of movies for a long time), but there are some promising directors out there like Nuri Bilge Ceyhan and Fatih Akin. let us put our faith in young directors which actually can change the current boring landscape!

Edit: Deno: i guess Inception is a kind of movie you either love or hate, i personally loved it, Cristopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors :)

In the end discussing taste is almost impossible!

Everybody knows Turks should just stick to what they are best at. Making Mafia films.

I enjoy quite a lot of their Mafia serials.

I watched this movie tonight..Finally..Well, my objective opinion about this movie is; with 17 million dolar budget this is the best one can do..I liked the movie and its worth every liras i spent(18 liras btw :D )..And besides that, i think watching this delightful movie is one thing and supporting our cinema sector is another thing..I hope they will do more historical movies which mirror our glorious past

Does one cinema ticket cost 18 Liras!!! That is more expensive than even Denmark!

I paid 100 DKK for the tickets in Park Bio, how is 18 Liras more expensive.

All I'll say is watch the movie and then come with your comments.

Silko, I find your preference towards comedy movies understandable, doesn't require much to be entertained by Kemal Sunals movies. However go watch Fetih 1453, and then give us your comments.

Like I said earlier, it's a movie, they don't have to get all facts correct. if it's for an artistic/storyline-wise reason.

I pay 60-70 kroner for a ticket where i live. Maybe i'll watch it, but the last time i went to a Turkish movie in the cinema (Kurtlar Vadisi Filistin) i lost my interest in Turkish blockbuster movies.

I guess you'll only have negative contribution to this thread then, based on your previous horrid experience, hope the "stereo-type" redneck soldiers didn't give you nightmares :)

not easy to find cinemas showing it. you need to plan ahead, and there is only in some certain days that this will be on a certain cinema.

i don't have time for them so i usually miss them and have to wait for it to come out in internet to watch.

and what do you mean by, "doesn't require much to be entertained by Kemal Sunal".

that guy is a masterpiece!

.
I'll have to watch this movie the next time I am Turkey which should be 2013 as in Australia where I work does not have this movie

And on a similar thought one of the best Turkish comedies post Kemal Sunal has got to be Ay Lav Yu
