A 40-minute compilation film featuring President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore discussing their efforts to modernise the government prompted Musk to write, "Sounds familiar" in an X post over the weekend. The administration is carrying out the promises "Democrat politicians promised the American people they would do for decades, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who made the identical claim on Fox News on Monday.
In the month since Trump's inauguration, more than 200,000 federal workers at more than a dozen agencies have had their roles eliminated, according to ABC News. Firings have occurred at the Department of Energy, USAID, the Environmental Protection Agency, and more.Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski lamented dozens of Alaskans being put out of work, saying while she agreed with the goal to reduce the size of the government, " his approach is bringing confusion, anxiety, and now trauma to our civil servants.""Indiscriminate workforce cuts aren't efficient and won't fix the federal budget, but they will hurt good people who have answered the call to public service to do important work for our nation," Murkowski said.Sen. John Curtis, R-Utah, voiced a similar concern: "I think if there's one thing I could change about the DOGE, it's that it's moving so fast, it's not really factoring in the human element."

No, DOGE is moving as fast as NORMAL businesses does. And that is what entrenched government employees do not like. Senators and Representatives are protected by their congressional terms, 2 yrs and 6 yrs. But what DOGE is doing is what normal businesses do everyday, especially after a corporate takeover or merger or buyout.
