I'm from Goa, and there are LOTS of solo female tourists here.. sure, some bad news pops up every now and then but Goa and south in general is very welcoming of all people and very very safe for females.

The north is not bad either but that crowd has a bit of a bad rep, plenty of solo women tourists up north too though.

and a Pakistani military forum really isn't the best place for info about traveling in India.. lol

Agree, there are part of India that is safe. Just stay on the tourist bus and only go to tourist areas at busy tourist hours. So that is only 1-2% of India. Most of India it’s not safe for women almost all the time. And the 1% that is safe for women during tourist hours become dangerous in none tourist peak hours. So let’s say America is dangerous for women in 20% of places, China is dangerous for women in 2% of places, India is dangerous for women in 98-99% of places. In effect, India is not safe for women.
