FEER(5/1) Time To Get Tough With Pakistan

And sir what are your thoughts regarding the indian consulates which are the main sponcers of terror in Pakistan and every day the sucide bombs blasts which take millions of innocent lives. In that case Pakistan too is compled to forge the thought of taking necessory actions to stop them by all means.

From your comment i am guessing that if the game goes on like this than we might witness a final showdown.
In the nuclear world the true enemy is war itself.

I will refrain from commenting on Indian consulates, since that has been discussed alot on the other thread.

There is never going to be a final showdown. Both countries at this juncture cannot afford to or willing to do it. But what has become important is Afganistan. India likewise, would not like to see a taliban rule in Afganistan and pakistan does. It will all depends on the future of NATO strategy, only time will tell.

I for one would like to see a stable Afgan gov't in place and a stable Afganistan. It is a better proposition then Pakistanies perceive at, especially economically.

First of all a good read about Afganistan is here: http://www.isdp.eu/files/publications/cefq/08/sc08afghanistan.pdf

But a bigger question is posed my Mr. Muse, In my mind the stability of Afgainstan is a benefial to Pakistan, especially in economically and commerically.

First regrading trade with Afganistan. With Karachi and new gwader port Pakistan can benefit lot economically because Afganistan is a land lock state, which would dramtatically increase revenues to Pakistan. But trading and economic is one advantage to Pakistan.

The greater advantage would be if Afganistan becomes stable the advantage for Pakistan would be that FATA and SWAT would also become stable, and it would inhence the foundation scenario (education, hosiptals, etcc..) that is being proposed today. Because of these stability, the educated people in these communities to would start to florish, which would add a greater good to Pakistan GDP.

In reality the strategy of keeping Afgan talibs has a hedge in Afganistan is hurting Pakistan more then benefitting them. It tends to increase the displacement of people towards pakistan, which the pakistanie taxs payer are paying for, likewise those funds could have gone in a better use. It also burdens Pakistan of constant cross border migration with illegal poppie seed business for guns, which also puts more burden in Pakistan GDP (especially defense spending) for security, and not to forget the constant treath of terrorist activites.

Some of my thoughts Mr. Muse, but I am sure you could add more..
