I'm glad you mentioned Samsung. Samsung does their highly educated business activities like research and high tech semiconductor production in China.

They do very labor intensive things in Vietnam like assembling components made in China.

Egypt also had a low talent, labor intensive economy. If Vietnam is to prosper, Vietnamese must first understand the nature of their own economy.

In China an unemployed person can live easily by streaming computer game or selling makeup online. Our society is as kind as possible to everyone, even people who can only play video games all day or Youtube.

Livestreamers in China create $300 billion of value per year. Compare to the entire country of Vietnam ($354 billion).

Vietnam is a highly competitive society that has no mercy for anyone.

That goes against the Chinese principle of benevolence 仁义.

That is why you work so hard, yet where is your money?

Shares in two of China's biggest online gaming firms have slipped after a state media outlet called them "electronic drugs".
Tencent and NetEase shares fell more than 10% in early Hong Kong trade before regaining some of those losses.
Investors are increasingly concerned about Beijing cracking down on firms.
In recent months authorities have announced a series of measures to tighten their grip on technology and private education companies.
An article published by the state-run Economic Information Daily said many teenagers had become addicted to online gaming and it was having a negative impact on them. The news outlet is affiliated with the official Xinhua news agency.
The article cited Tencent's hugely popular game Honor of Kings, saying students were playing it for up to eight hours a day, and asked for more curbs on the industry.

"No industry, no sport, can be allowed to develop in a way that will destroy a generation," it said before going on to liken online games to "spiritual opium"

In the first 10 months of 2021, foreign direct investment (FDI) in actual use in China reached 943.15 billion yuan ($142 billion), an increase of 17.8 percent year-on-year. The annual growth rate reached 23.4 percent in US dollar terms, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce.

FDI used in the services sector rose 20.3 percent year-on-year to 752.52 billion yuan, and the invested used in high-tech industries increased by 23.7 percent. In the latter category, foreign capital used in high-tech services grew 27.9 percent, while it expanded 10 percent in high-tech manufacturing.

And, actual investment from countries and regions which join the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) increased by 30.7 percent and that from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) rose by 29.5 percent.

The amount of foreign capital actually used is evidence of the increasingly close economic and trade relations between China and members of the BRI and ASEAN, analysts say.

From January to October, trade between China and BRI economies stood at 9.3 trillion yuan, up 23 percent on a yearly basis. As China's biggest trade partner, ASEAN countries saw total trade with China rise to 4.55 trillion yuan, up 20.4 percent and accounting for 14.4 percent of China's aggregate foreign trade volume, according to data from Chinese customs.

China also accounted for more than 10 percent of global FDI during the first half of 2021. FDI nationwide reached $90.96 billion calculated in US dollar terms, up 33.9 percent year-on-year, while global FDI flows arrived at an estimated $852 billion, according to UNCTAD's Investment Trends Monitor which was released on October 18.

This Chinese Viet infighting is getting ridiculous. Both countries are doing well and will have a bright future. China is emerging as a great superpower while Vietnam will undoubtedly be the tiger of Southeast Asia. Vietnam is a brotherly country of China and shares our heritage. That’s part of why we fight so much because Confucian countries are very competitive but Vietnamese are a great people and worthy of respect.

FDI's in China are predominantly from Hong Kong (between 60~70% of all FDI's), followed by Singapore, Taiwan (usually through BVI or Cayman Island), South Korea and Japan. Good to see BRI and ASEAN countries fast increasing their FDI to China from relatively low historical bases, welcome!
