Yes somebody in his own police force(office/office gatekeepers) or somebody standing outside his office was monitoring his movement...gave tipoff and hence the bomber acted on the tipoff..its sad that bomerz r monitoring our movts and we cant monitor them..?

It was initial news about the scooter guy being the culprit as it was based on eye witness accounts and in the start it was confusion also.

Unfortunately, the guy on the scooter was also martyred.

The commandant, his one body guard, the guy on the scooter and the guy standing right behind the bomber in blue clothes were the casualties. 4 people + 1 suicide = 5 deaths in total.

I was watching it on TV. The news channel kept on repeating it again and again. The blast was horrible and it was pretty depressing. I hope the sanity prevails and these Cheap Journalist stop doing this. They were showing the CCTV footage of the scene again and again.

Sitara-e-Shujaat announced for martyred FC chief Siffwat

PESHAWAR: Federal Home Minister Abdul Rehman Malik has announced Sitara-e-Shujaat award for martyred chief of FC Siffwat Ghayur, who was killed in a suicide attack in Peshawar yesterday, Geo News reported.

On the occasion, he said Siffwat Ghayur, through laying down his life in combating militancy, has given a new ray of courage to our forces.

Talking to newsmen here at Peshawar airport, Malik said terrorists have now shifted their agenda by targeting senior officers and prominent personalities in order to gain some respect in the eyes of people. “But we will continue taking on terrorists”, he vowed.

Terrorists are paid assassins who cannot demoralize our forces in eradicating their dogma from the face of our country, he maintained.

Vowing to increase the numbers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, Malik accused Taliban of misusing name of Pakhtuns to trigger anarchy in Karachi.

“Taliban are non-state actors who are resorting to label of Pakhtuns for spreading panic in Karachi”, he observed.

Minister also visited the house of Siffwat Ghayur and expressed condolence with family of martyred FC chief and also offered fateha.

Later, Abdul Rehman Malik announced award of plots for children of Siffwat Ghayur from federal government.

he did not wanted the extra security measures for himself. He had with his disposal everything, bullet / bomb proof vehicles, could have used a security motorcade, while coming out of office, could have blocked the traffic, could have crossed the chowk even with red light, he did not used dark sheets on the cars windows to hide his face etc etc etc.

But he was that sort of a guy who wanted no extra security steps even though he was advised many many times to make his security strong.

Even when he was CCPO Peshawar, he used to travel in one jeep sitting at the front.

So now just guess what kind of a person he was compared to the ones who are not even that much important but still driving with security measures as if they are the head of states.

If you watch the CCTV video. The guy standing in grey shalwar kamiz at the left and next to the railing is the 'Spotter' who identified Siffat Ghayoor as the target. The guy walking next to him is white shalwar kamiz is the 'bomber' who walks slowly towards the spotter at first and then briskly turns right towards the front of Siffat Ghayoor's car and blows himself up! TTP had good intel on Siffat Ghayoor movement and they knew that he was going to be at that particular spot. They also chose a spot where the car would have come to a halt probably because of a crossing or a red light.

From what i read here, this officer must have been one of those men that Pakistan and for that matter India could use a lot. Men of such caliber and honesty are hard to come by. Sadly, in our world they are also the first ones that are dear to God. Hope his soul rests in peace and his family finds the strength to overcome this loss.
