May I remind you that many such notices have been sent in the past as well (that too to designers)...

This isn't "danda" --- danda is when they are thrown in jail or otherwise fined (in the tens of millions of ruppees range) for their transgressions. This is Pakistan. Most of these designers are very well connected, making things for the daughters and wives of powerful bureaucrats, generals, politicians and generals. We live in "muk-makka" land and the new government really hasn't changed that too much, as we saw with them caving into traders' demands just after a few protests.

Here I shall share a video by Singapore's first PM and quasi benevolent dictator LKY on how to deal with these entrenched and threatening mafias (in this case it was blackmailing and a strike by Singapore Intl Airlines pilots):

No body gives right to publish such information ,as it is state vs individual and they cant defend the allegations ,we Pakistani`s are in habit of becoming famous by publicizing such news in intl law you can take the agency to cleaners.

All should be under the radar of FBR including all government employees, private transporters, big retail companies, mall owners, painters, interior designers, clothing designers, singers, actors, actresses, show producers and directors, media companies. media companies should provide list of all their employees to FBR.

To be honest I'm not concerned about the FBR naming and shaming these tax thieves. In Canada the one institution that nobody wants to be on the bad side off is CRA (Canada's equivalent of FBR). If CRA suspects you are doing heera pheri and initiates an audit against you then you are well and truly effed. I know a person from Pakistan who thought the system in Canada runs similar to back home and he had an audit against him. CRA took control of his accounts and any income coming in half of it was automatically directed to CRA till his fine and owed amount wasn't paid back.

My friends in US and UK will also attest to the fact as to how dangerous IRS and HMRS are. We want FBR to have that level of menace about them, only then people will straighten up and pay their due tax.
