FATF Plenary Meeting Starts to Decide on Pakistan’s Removal from Grey List

Undocumented economy. New SUVs selling like candies. Importing $2 billion of mobile phones which get sold easily. Yet everyone cries and bitches when asked to pay due tax.
Issues
1. Etracking to first grab the tax that people do pay but govt doesnt get it(oil, garments etc)
2. Punishment for non filers
3. Judicary reforms so FBR can do what it wants rather then just facing the judges

Here 0akistan holds the cards..if only we had courage.
If not off the list permanently and all embargoes lifted such as engines do t129 then no help in Afghanistan
Everyone holds some kind of trump cards man. Some like FATF are cards which US uses while there are many which Pakistan uses, i think its not fair to say that US doesn't have any leverage over the situation which they does. My personal opinion is that pak is not gonna comr out of grey list just yet. It'll take some 6-8 months more to come out.

But if the politicians technically plundered the borrowed money (not yours) and you never paid your money (as taxes) and as @Indus Pakistan says you still get infrastructure and social support that many fully industrialised western countries do not get, then where is the downside to this scam?

When you borrow and don't pay back, and there is no tax collection money to pay it back with ... then you borrow from IMF/WB to keep things going.

Forgot about that part of the equation?

Of course I agree. They will stretch this out

I don't understand Pakistan economy.

Their people look well fed and clothed in the videos we see.

Why are they always short of money as a nation?

Its a serious question.

Are they having to spend too much on defending themselves against hostile neighbours?

Cheers, Doc
we are not that bad. compared to most countries we are ok. But their is still a lot of corruption because we refuse to pay taxes so government workers take bribes.
