Well that defines the lawlessness and target killings in Karachi. What else do you expect than lawlessness when thugs are respected by so called "millions". The general Babar died a resp3ectable death and lived like a man in this country till his death even when MQM betrayed it's own so called martyrs to join PPP to form govt. pm Pakistanis are seeing their version of the bloody 90s in KP and FATA and to a lesser extent in B'stan and Karachi. Can it get worst? Yes. Should it get worst? absolutely not. Should there be another 90s in Karachi? Hell no.

Are you from the city? Our compatriots up north don't know what happened while we were growing up. They'd be more sympathetic if they did.

contrary to popular belief, i think Karachiites are a bit more matured now and dont want to see the violence of 90s or late 2000s again....of course you could argue targetted killing continues unabated based on political affiliations. But i dont think the public there has a heart for widespread political violence. It's very bad for business. Nobody wins.

it is an incompetent, totally dysfunctional administration. The magnanimous proportions of incompetence have been displayed on a municipal, provincial and federal level time and time again.

the PPP party is a disaster for Pakistan. Absolute disaster. I feel sorry for the brain-dead fleas who still vote for this party.

PPP days in power are numbered.
For the longest no govt. lasted more than a few months without MQM's support.

It looks like for Altaf's ego of trying to get a couple of seats in Kashmir--so that MQM could look like a 'national' party--MQM has decided to quit. A 'regional' party label was too much, considering MQM managed to win one seat in Gilgit-Baltistan and then crowed about it.

In Azad Kashmir the three main players have been PPP, PMLN, and Muslim Conference. I doubt MQM has enough vote bank there.

Anyway, the PPP govt. is not really functioning well. It is within the democratic rights of other parties to ask for mid-term elections. However, I am afraid, the next PM is Nawaz Sharif and he goes not get along with either PPP or MQM or ANP or PMLQ...or even the Army now. So make your own conclusions about what is to follow.
