Anyone breaching local laws must get heavy fines and penalties just like they get it in the West.

Then please follow due process. Present the case and evidence in a proper court of law and get a verdict first.

Glad you agree that breach of local laws, once established, must be punished accordingly. Even if that means revoking license or banning some Internet Social site.

Now if a judge has ordered this ban, this should be reviewed and fought on proper higher judicial forums.

PS: I do not support bans, I however do support compliance to local laws no matter which country you live in or establish your business.

"Once established". That has not yet happened in this context.

Why not just ban the internet, it will bring the chances of encountering blasphemous content down to zero percent, surely if we follow the logic this is only a natural conclusion?

If i speak anything against your father/mother then you have a right to do anything but if someone say something about Rasool Allah then its freedom of expression? If one person hurt then there is a law but if millions hurt then freedom of expression?. It is a prime example of Hypocrisy and there is a limit of everything. I like balance and we should make balance. We have law here and others must respect that, otherwise we will enforce it like every other country do

What has not happened in this context? Is Facebook banned right now?

No violation of law has been proven in a court of law to date in this matter, only allegations and personal opinions.

Just report page and move on. We are unfortunately not strong enough (or bothered enough) collectively to stick with such bans and boycotts - people will find a way around it, govt. ban won't solve anything if people still want to use it.

Loss of Pakistani traffic won't do much to FB's profits, so they're unlikely to change their policies if this ban is placed.

If the blasphemy upsets you, stop using FB. I personally got rid of my account years ago, there are much more productive uses for time anyway.

Censorship of a massive platform like fb isn't a normal response to some incidents of blasphemous content.
Youtube was banned for the same reason and it was the dumbest and most counterproductive ban I've ever witnessed.

Like I said, if you are so worried about the slim possibility of happening upon blasphemous content, please sell your mobile, laptop and other devices, stay off the internet completely. I'm sure it will ensure that you never run the risk of coming across any such content. Essentially, THIS is the underlying logic of any ban like this.

Which is why Facebook has not yet been banned. Court has ordered relevant authorities to act and so are they doing. Wait and see, law is taking its course.

Will sale of mobile and other devices solve the problem. You are asking us to do this

Even we did that it will not resolve the issue. We need solution not to go for ignore and give license to them to do whatever they want to do. By the way that was German response for fake news http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolo...hreatens-fine-facebook-500000-every-time/(Are we that much low bred that we do nothing in case of our Prophet P.B.U.H?)

Might as well ban all web use unless verified by Mullah as clean. Also, declare hacking into haram websites as a capital crime punishable by 5 years hard labor (farm, and city cleaning) and destruction of all the owners electrical devices (anything used to get internet).

PS: Raise taxes on computers, cell phones, wi-fi, etc.

Or better to allow Kim-Jung...whatever to rule us!!

My vote is yes. We should protect our interest and if anyone fail to do that we have right either asked them to undo the same or if they fail to do that then big YES to put banned on them as we all know that they know only one language and that is MONEY
No, that's totally wrong and we know the real intentions of patwaris...They themselves are responsible for all those blasphemous pages...basically this was bubble butt's idea. If they were so sincere why did they not act against the those blasphemers.. None of them even spoke against them..and then let them flee from Pakistan ...the basic idea was to stifle the social media because they have purchased most of the main stream media but they couldn't do diddly squat about the social media so that was the plan... so totally disagreed and the people of Pakistan do not agree with this malicious decision by the patwari vermin.

@Syed.Ali.Haider - see quote - interesting perspective, do you think this could be true? that the real reason they want to shut down social media is to prevent grassroots opposition to the powers that rule Pakistan? It seems quite probable to me.

To be honest, I would say that nothing is too low for those in power right now in Pakistan, and thus I would not be surprised, if that theory were ever shown to be correct.
