Unless the J-31 has avionics and radar no better than current 4th generation, then it will win against F-35 time after time. I don't need to have flown both fighters as logic can be used to deduce this.

You earned an 'F' for your logic since you assumed the J-31 is more maneuverable, agile and accelerates faster than an F-35.

Yes I have assumed this as the Chinese would not be so stupid not to make the J-31 have these parameters. They have the demonstrated the ability already in there 4th generation fighters so it is reasonable to make these assumptions for their 5th generation fighters.

The US could have easily incorporated these features into the F-35 but it chose not to do so as it thought that the stealth and avionics of the F-35 would be blowing what would still be 4th generation Chinese and Russian fighters out of the sky in the late 2010s and 2020s.

Robert Gates, who was the US secretary of defence when the J-20 first flew, thought that it would make it's first flight in 2025 and not in 2011.

That is the kind of arrogance and complacency that US planners used when coming up with the F-35 concept.

He does not need to know. His 'logic' says that it is only 'logical' that China would produce a faster aircraft. The SR-71's top speed is still secret, but according to his 'logic' the J31 must be faster than Mach 5 because that is the only way China works.

Fact 1: F-35 has top speed to only Mach 1.6

Fact 2: F-35 is poor at maneuverability

Fact 3: It's stealth is not as good as the US could have made it.

Fact: J-31 is a ripoff of F-35, except that it has 2x8,300 = 16,600 kg engines instead of one 18,144 kg engine for F-35.

So there is no reason to assume that J-31 will be faster, more maneuverable and more stealthy than F-35. Quite on contrary.
