F-16 is a great fighter and F-16IN is simply the best one too. Infact F-16IN can be considered as the best single engined 4.5 Gen fighter available now..

But for the very good factor that even US has long time back, stopped its induction into the air force, while even newer F-18s are still getting orders, speaks for itself.

Brazilian competition, Japanese fighter competition and every defense procurement competitions around the world has seen F-16 as an absentee and Rafale, F-18s, F-15's, EF and grippens fighting it out for the deals.

Only straightaway deals in smaller numbers is making the fighter's production alive.

LM had no other option as the specifications regarding the MRCA tender didnt match with their best fighter available. Ie F-35. Thats why they offered F-35 in future if F-16 is selected as the winner.

Anyway everyone loves the product of their country LCA for India and JF-17 for Pakistan. So its better not to insult each other regarding that.

so when did being inducted first become the mark of success in the aviation sector ? Timing is a matter of implementation not the degree of effectiveness. If you really want to know the facts please visit a neutral source of assessment of the JF-17 and the LCA, you will be very surprised with the results.

logically a fuel tank doesnt need fins right? it can take the pill shape to accomodate more fuel.. why such different shape proposed? any logic behind it?
