F-16: Made in India, Future of PAF F-16s

F-16 has no future in Pakistan with or without India assembling or making it. It will remain as a stop gap measure till the time block 3 JF-17 arrives. JF-17 is the backbone of PAF and with new blocks coming it will become the main fighting force of PAF till the time J-31 matures. F-16 will remain till service but nothing beyond that.

Relax! Here's where your all weather friend comes in. The option will be to go for the Chengdu J-10 or J-20 in place of the F-16s. But what are you guys going to do with the 76 F-16s with no spares available? They will all be eventually grounded. Or you may think of selling them to a third country for which you would need permission from the US of A.

That said I think it is a good idea to pursue this offer of manufacturing F-16 Blk 70 in India which is a state of the art 4++ gen fighter. And there are dozens of countries with earlier block F-16s who would be dependent on India for spares. The spanking new blk 70/72 would have a lot of export potential as it would be extremely cost effective. We should go in for this proposal forthwith.

read it carefully before having wishful thinking.

F-16blk70 is on paper only. to be honest it is no different than blk60/61 or may be a reincarnation of F-2 with advance goodies

assume it happens, good luck. F-16 is a fighter designed in early 70's and upgraded since then. basic core is still 4 decades old

But do not expect LM to hand you over the entire world customer to you in a plate. that is not going to happen

lastly, PAF will continue to use its F-16 and will replace them in due time with 5th gen fighter. For PAF F-16 is an old technology. PAF is planning for 5th gen fighter to be inducted a decade later.

Christine Fair in an internationally acclaimed scholar. Her Pakistan-centeric publications are known to everyone.

In such a scenario, what will be PAF's options? How will PAF's fleet of F-16 survive? What PAF will be left with to pitch against IAF?

Ultimately India will be sole "Chaudhry" of Asia?

There are so many if and buts in this while article that its better to give a damn shit to this hypothetical scenario.

I am reading such childish articles since early 2000 when India first intended for MRCA deal.

F sola was the first one which was rejected among all mmrca contenders.

That is not what you meant ; right

All such scenario are hypothetical and nothing but day dreaming of some kids.

f16 has never been the priority of IAF and it will never be in future as well.
It took India 13 years to select aircraft, which are just 36 in number.

Even today, the deal is yet to be finalized for rafale. And some internet kids are taking of F 16 in IAF inventory with made in India tag.

Come to real world guys.
