F-104 & the surrender of IAF Gnat in 65.

. .
since you are new to the forum i highly advice you to contact Growler for some material that we have been discussing for last many years on this forum.

no one would buy the verdict that India won 65 & 71 wars as there was no clear victory on any side .

71 war was lost in the shape of East Pakistan but Nothing happened on western Borders and PAF enjoyed Air Supriority.

There were many factors ie Mukti bani , And outgunned Pakistani Millitary in that Part and the Air force.

We couldn't protect it against the Full scale Indian invasion of East Pakistan and that debt stands still .

In any war Pakistan gain nothing but Bangladesh is free country now, we have Siachin ... at the end only this count

The 1971 war witnessed the first supersonic air combat in the subcontinent when an Indian MiG-21FLs claimed a PAF F-104 Starfighter with its GSh-23 twin-barrelled 23 mm cannon.By the time the hostilities came to an end, the IAF MiG-21s had claimed four PAF F-104s, two PAF F.6, one PAF North American F-86 Sabre and one PAF Lockheed C-130 Hercules. According to one Western military analyst, the MiG-21s had clearly "won" the much anticipated air combat between the MiG-21 and the F-104 Starfighter.

Incorrect.. The C-130 escaped alive and barely scratched.
Indian Air-to-Air Victories since 1948
No C-130 was lost.. there was a Mig-21 friendly killed in a night intercept on a C-130..
