Exposed: Obama's Plan to Arm Taiwan

That's the regular diplomatic procedure. Not a fit. Everything is done in a dignified manner, following international customs/diplomatic etiquette/courtesy.

Geopolitics is never a linear science. And those points are of my own, as a person residing in Greater China, not of the China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If you want to see a real fit, watch Hillary when Obama's Syrian resolution was vetoed by China and Russia.

So wait, you basically said everything you posted was wishful thinking. got it.

Of course, what I wrote was an interpretation/speculation. Not China's official stand. This is often what security analysts and IR theorists do. They look at the facts and speculate.

You almost sound scared of China"officials" . Like someone gets you to post on forums, and you are afraid you may have gone outside the lines a bit.

I wouldn't worry about Macau and HK to be honest. The citizens of Macau have never demonstrated for democracy and aren't gonna start making trouble in the future either because they are not susceptible to those NGO influence. HK on the other hand has seen democracy movements and at the height of the protests last year which lasted 2-3 months, how many support did those students get? The majority of the citizens slammed the protestors and everything turned normal once again. Beijing doesn't have to break a sweat, the local police, black society, majority of the people handled the situation very well. This proof HK is not an easy target to get everybody brainwashed and start rioting against Mainland. The students failed miserably and are now seen as troublemakers by everybody. Anyway Taiwan, HK and Macau are not the issues. Our primary focus is our rapid development.

This is why America and countries like Vietnam and Japan continues to needle China. They realise China is too timid to do anything.

You can't have rapid development when there is chaos. US NGOs primary goal is to cause chaos in China, Hong Kong and Macau.

These NGOs will keep trying until they eventually succeed. They do this in many countries. Don't think for a second that they will give up after the student protests. They fill find other methods.

US NGOs are there to undermine China. Why on earth would any self respecting country tolerate that?

Time will tell, have patience and see how China evolves :)

Have you just revised your flags? For I remember you had two US flags, rather than the alternate you have now.

Anyway, I am simply pointing out the fact that the official stand and a scholar's speculation/theorizing would not perfectly fit.

First of all, a scholar would not have all the resources a foreign policy expert at the Foreign Ministry would. Inter-state relations is simply another level of social-being. If one is not there, one cannot know exactly what is going on.

That's why my interpretation of the situation and China's official reaction would not entirely match. But this does not prevent me from arriving at certain conclusion so long as I establish the required causal relationship.

China's (Mainland) IR domain is way complicated than you think, and it is based on die-hard pragmatism and *** (I will keep this part for myself because I am doing a research on it at the moment and trying to coin a term for the first time).

I am still an outside observer, if you have noticed my flags. My interpretation might as well be proven wrong or inadequate.

Agree. The new security law has not been finalized yet. Let's see what sort of measures are being promoted to ensure national security and absolute sovereignty.

It is, I think, also partly the duty of the nation's scholars (especially IR and security experts) to work on the issue, keep/reinforce political consciousness so that a level of awareness would be ensured for every level of society.

Whats the big deal? The chinese govt didn't even care this time.
China and Taiwan aren't going to reunite again and its not like Taiwan is going to invade China
The only reason China should fear this is if they are planning to invade Taiwan which will never happen as the chinese govt has no reason to do it

You don't wait until a symptom becomes a virus. Sure HK won this round but not without economic lost and division of the people (divide and conquer, a useful western control method)

India did something right while China screwed up in this case.
