Export earnings to cross $80B by 2024, hopes Tipu

That Fiat 1100d looks brilliant !

Yeah - so did the Morris Oxford while it was styled in England. It had a certain class and proportion in the styling.

Then they took both of these to India and put those Ugly-a$$ "two sizes too big" wheels on it - why you ask?

Because at the time (and even today) Indian roads are filled with huge potholes resulting from low grade asphalt-ridden carpeting.

Kanjoosi pervades the society unfortunately which is the cause of this.

Big Ugly-a$$ wheels and soft leaf (patti) springs help ride over these huge potholes.

Look at the demure 1100D that was styled by Italians...

And look at the "Highwater pants" raised chassis monstrosity Indians converted it to. Almost a Mad Max look...with no hubcaps. Too many hubcap thieves....

Your high tech crap doesn’t generate much employment.

At this stage of development - Bangladesh needs loads of jobs.

Only way to generate millions of jobs is through low tech.

Your need to feel superior will not lift millions from poverty.

Covid showed the resilience of Bangladesh’s development model.

Whilst India suffered a covid genocide - Bangladesh sailed through.

I am surprised how some folks don't see why Bangladesh entrepreneurs concentrated so ardently in low level value addition.

Price is the main reason and our main USP is low cost of labor. That's why we are second behind China in apparel export market.

When you want to raise your value addition level (meaning sophistication), you have to have the educational qualifications to do it.

Bangladesh does not have that in numbers (some labor of course does, which is limited), and neither does a whole slew of countries in South and SouthEast Asia. Working in factories is not considered 'honorable' in most of South Asia. Although that notion is rapidly changing in Bangladesh.

Countries need to train their people in vocational skills to add higher level value.

Japan, Korea and Taiwan (and also China) did this very successfully, but Thailand and some other ASEAN countries did not. Thailand is stuck at mid-level value addition past shoe, apparel, toys manufacturing and cannot move further up, why? Educated workforce does not exist (in numbers) to add higher level sophisticated value which requires much more skills than that assembling or sewing shoes, clothes and toys.

We will be in the same boat in another two/three years. And we will be stuck there if we don't train our labor in skills like many types of sheet metal work, welding (for shipbuilding and other heavy engg. work) and other specific industrial value addition processes.

We need to educate our workforce now....otherwise we will never get past per capita GDP of $3000 to $4000 nominal.

@Indos brother what is your opinion on this please?

It is another example of, "Ramayan written before Ram was born."

2024 is Hanuj Dur Ast. Dear Tipu Kumar, please talk about 2022.

This was the same Tipu Kumar who went and met Didi in Kolkata a month ago and promised to invest in their state. Why give false hope? Makes us look bad.

Are not we together a shameless nation? We say something even at state level that bears no meaning.

All are just "Baat ki Baat". Very bad culture. People make promises without meaning it. It is a typical BD character.

However, brats like Tipu Kumar want to keep their chairs hot. Yes, it is but only until the next election.

Yup, Indonesia has this vocational school inserted into our primary school. Their level is the same like high school, but with more focus on technic kind of thing. Later there are also vocational schools in university level, we call it D1, D2, or D3, in this one they will be taught to be more expert with their specialization.

We have for instants vocational school at high school level with concentration of aerospace for example

I was aware from my Indonesian friends that such vocational training existed at all levels including Highschool in Indonesia, but what do they teach?

Sheet metal work? Welding?

I am sure we can hire Indonesian vocational experts for certain skills in factories, but how do you judge expertise level? Does D1, D2, D3 indicate increasing levels of skill?

If you have links that would be very welcome brother....my sincere Thanks in advance.

Vocational schools are based on specialization like aerospace and others, some of them even are more about economy like accounting ( hopefully to be cashier/accounting in small shop )

Aerospace industry in Indonesia is not only in PTDI (Indonesian Aerospace), others are usually MRO focused like GMF Aero Asia, and many airlines has their own mechanics as well and big MRO for big airline companies.

They can become Air Force mechanics as well

For avionics we have LEN Industry and Info Global

Anyone who has been to Bangladesh will corroborate that Bangladesh is light years behind in development and infrastructure compared to both India and Pakistan but yet churn out GDP numbers so impressive that even Americans are put to shame.
You seem to have a very upside down sense of proportion. ''Light year'' behind India and Pakistan? ''Put American to shame''? What's so great about Indian and Pakistani infrastructure? I agree you that you guys are 10 years ahead of us in transport infrasructure. That's it. But other indicators of development? The very crucial social development? I assume you to be a Pakistani, Pakistan's shiny new roads and airports are the result of massive loans which wreaked havoc your economy and generous Chinese loan under CPEC project which will pain your country for years to come. What's so great about that?

Anyways the point being you guys have an advantage of being a sweat shop of clothing in the world so all the credit due but when it comes to infrastructure , industry , strategic importance and value , global influence and presence and out of border influence and reach you guys are light years behind……

Heck try to win some ICC tournament for once ….
It is obvious that, you are having a massive inferiority complex, why are you bringing strategic importance, global influence, cricket in this export thread? Is there any competition going on between Bangladesh and Pakistan?

By 2025, Tata Motors will have a portfolio of 10 EVs including the recently showcased Curvv and Avinya concept. Tata has hit the ball out of the park with the Nexon EV. Having found the right balance between practicality and affordability, the Nexon EV doesn’t merely dominate the EV space in India, but it has tremendously boosted buyer confidence to go electric. A longer-range Nexon EV Max recently joined the range, and according to the claims of the company the demand is so strong, waiting periods rose to four months just days after its launch. The EV’s outstanding success has had a halo effect on both the Nexon’s as well as Tata’s image. Tata Power currently has over 1,500 public and semi-public EV chargers installed and another 550-plus chargers are in various stages of installation. It also has a network of 13,000-plus home chargers for private use.

3064 Electric Buses were registered in European Union 🇪🇺 in 2021, of which

🇫🇷 France: 622
🇩🇪 Germany: 613

Now lets compare this with India's electric bus market

Tenders awarded for AC Electric buses in 2022

🇮🇳 Mumbai: 2100
🇮🇳 Kolkata: 2000
🇮🇳 Delhi: 1600
🇮🇳 Bengaluru: 1600
This is not a India related thread. Post this in Indian economy section.

Thanks.

Lol 300 years of what? My ***

Every asian country were explorted no one whine about it. Just get it done.

Inferiority complex are the uk bengali ppl ashamed to call there own restaurants bangladeshi lol. And call it indian. How fucking retarded it is. Even nepal or pakistan or sri lankan dont do that.

So ya so much for being proud. Is this why bd ppl all watch hindi day and night and line up to go to Kolkata for shopping.

Hey asshole enough with personal attack. U don't have the balls to reply dont bother bitching about me indirectly then.

Swearing and cursing - very classy!

Why don’t you address his points?

You obviously have personal animosity towards BAL. Which I fully understand because they are thoroughly corrupt!

Why can’t you call BAL/BNP the thugs they are but at the same time recognise the massive exports growth. Which is employing millions of women. Enabling most homes to have multiple incomes. Which means individually they don’t have to earn much.

As for your point about Sylheti owned restaurants in Britain - three reasons for calling them Indian:

1. Sylhetis started out in this sector before 1971. My uncle opened his restaurant in the early 1960s.

2. They could have called it Bengali or Pakistani restaurant - but both have weak name recognition.

3. British Sylhetis don’t have much Bengali love and lost love for Pakistan in 1960s. Some are now changing but Bangladesh is still a weak brand.

In business you cannot be emotional or nationalistic.

Most French restaurants in Britain are owned by British people.

strategic importance is just a cope. Becoming a playground for American drones is nothing to be proud of.

What point is that? calling me BNP lmao. I never even voted in bd.

Its not just british bengali... bd ppl in canada also call there restaurants indian and most are recent immigrants.

Ya but french and british are close. Indians call bd ppl termite but proud bd ppl will still call there own restaurants indian. very proud bunch.

Of course BLA and BNP both are corrupt as ****. Because our family own real estate brokerage i personally know shit load of money laundering happening in toronto and Vancouver by these sweat shop owners and most of them are also part of BNP or BAL. these retards keep laundering money through under/over invoicing. and i am not talking about few hundred we taking about 5 or 10 mil houses. and then cry to govt for more handouts.
