American jamming technology helped save Musharraf while his motorcade passed through that fateful bridge back in 2002-03. Much documentation has come out after that incident regarding Musharraf's security cordon.

Mush's motorcade has a car which carries bomb jamming devices. Some of that equipment must have been provided by CIA. But i agree with you when you say

Lahori is being emotional but the point he is making is valid, Musharaf is not being fair to the nation by allowing the gun to be the only thing to remove him. He should committ to a timetable for presidential elections even if it be a long period of another five years and then he should honour it.

Gang held for rockets, blast aimed at Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: October 12, 2006: President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday said security forces have arrested an extremist gang which aimed rockets at his official residence and set off a blast near his army home.

'We have caught the culprits. They are again extremists, unfortunately,' said President Musharraf, who has escaped at least four assassination attempts blamed on the militants.

"We have unearthed the whole gang. That is a success for our intelligence," he told reporters at an Islamabad hotel.

He did not say how many people had been arrested or give any details about which extremist group they were linked to.

Bomb disposal experts defused two Russian-made rockets attached to a mobile phone near President Musharraf's official residence and the parliament in Islamabad on Thursday.

A security official told AFP they were directly aimed towards the presidential building.

Hours earlier, an explosion rocked a public park near the president's army residence in Rawalpindi.

"I can't for sure say whether I was being targeted. Maybe I was," the president added.

"But I am not that easy a target."
