Since money is not an issue for us , i also think J-10B is not the best option for the backbone of our Airforce . maybe as you said we could claim a couple of dozens to replace the aging F-5 fleet .

but i also think we're more interested in J-31 and J-20 in high numbers . i would really doubt china would subject to these demands .

if they do , they hate some huge sums of money

J20 is China`s top secret. Not for sale.
Russia is not going to sell T50 and US is not going to sell F22

J31 is middle end stealth fighter more likely for sale. Just like F35
But it will take many years to develop J31...

J10 will be a low cost air defense fight.
If you want attacking force, Su30 or Su35 will be a better option..

J31 looks like for sales, but need to wait many years for developing..
What Iran can buy right now is most likely Su30.
Su35 will be a question whether Russia will sell to Iran,

China needs to first be able to get rid on its dependence on Russian AL 31 engines before it can even start thinking of exporting J-10s , as its own engines are not yet mature/reliable enough/mass produced. Until then it will first need Russias approval/blessings before it can think of re-exporting russian engines.
However, it can do TOT of other parts to Iran.

We will directly jump towards J31. To fill stop gap , we will purchase 18 new f16 block 52+, and then buy one or two squadron of used f16 and then upgrade it at Block 50 level in Turkey. Also production of 6 squardons from BLOCKII of jf17, and then 4 squadrons of jf17 block III,it should meet PAF requirements.
If economy grows with PACE, then there is some possibility of J10Bs as insurance policy of F16s.
