‘Exorcism’ by electrocution: Indian father & grandmother torture children to ‘cleanse evil’

An Indian mother was reportedly locked in a room while her children were electrocuted by their father and grandmother in an exorcism ritual. The grandmother reportedly convinced her son to carry out the electrocution so she could achieve enlightenment.
Nirmal Kaur and her son Kulwinder Singh were arrested in Kotfatta, Bathinda in northern India following the deaths of Singh’s five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter, reported India Today.

Kaur, reportedly feared by her neighbors for having “divine powers”, allegedly convinced her son the ritual would cleanse the children of “evil spirits” and help her achieve a degree of tantra.

The children were allegedly beaten unconscious before being given electric shocks to revive them. On Wednesday, a day after the horrifying ritual began, Kaur increased the duration and intensity of the shocks, resulting in the children’s death.

The mother of the children had objected to the ritual but was reportedly locked in a room during the ordeal and prevented from intervening. Neighbors who reportedly feared Kaur eventually contacted police over screaming in the home, resulting in the discovery of the children’s bodies.

Kaur allegedly convinced her son that the ritual was safe and that the children would be brought back to life following their deaths.

"We have arrested the accused Nirmal Kaur and Kulwinder Singh. We will take action against them. The condition of Kulwinder's wife and sister is serious. They are being given medical treatment," Senior Superintendent of Police Swapan Sharma said.

Last week in India’s Karnataka state the body of a 10-year-old girl was discovered. She was believed by local authorities to have been sacrificed in a black magic ritual intended to cure a paralyzed man.

These things are a natural consequence of rising religious orthodoxy. In the era of Zia Ul Haq we saw this in Pakistan. We went from a pretty much secular outlook (the 1960's were very liberal in Pakistan) and then went down the dark road of religious orthodoxy and extremism. We then saw a spike in things like this in Pakistan. Now, India is heading down the same road and they will be better at it because they have a democratic commitment to this course of action not a dictatorship like we had. o when we raged against Zia it was also against the religious obscurantism that came with his rule. That is why we got Musharaff and his liberalism. Pakistani dont generally vote for religious parties in the NA. In India however, the BJP is a very powerful force with some very powerful ground root support. They can sustain the momentum of the move towards a religious orthodoxy than we could. This is why a second BJP term would take India irreversibly down this road. This sort of stuff will just become more common in India.

Unlike Indians who love to gloat over stuff like this, I personally feel it is sad when a nation decides to go down the path of religious extremism and ignorance. We have seen what it has done in Pakistan and it is sad that Indians are wholeheartedly accepting this road to ruin. There are dissenting voices in India but they are being silenced and just cant stand up to the wave of Hindutva that has been unleashed.

Tourism to india is actually increasing. It grew by 11 % in 2016 and 10.7 % in 2015. India is having more tourism then ever. So what are you talking about?

That remains to be seen. If india can keep up the growth and keep its people employed, the religious extremism will be checked. Things are really not that bad. The social fabric in india is still quit secular. Obviously if you wanna focus on the negatives, that is all you will see

Shocks (Jhatkay) to a body can be done in many sane ways without even touching that human being. Either it happens:
1. when a Lover (ashiq) thinks about his love (Divine love/mehboob) or
2. it can happen when the Love (Mehboob/Divine Love) comes in front of the lover (ashiq).

In either case, its the spirit (rooh) which over powers the body and the body seems to go in whirl or a spin or dances or moves in explained movements or goes in trance or gets shocks. The spirit (rooh) acknowledges the divine love and wants to get one with the love. Its all about the spirit and spirit being in love. Worldly ways (electrocuting) cant give power to the spirit.

Another way a body gets shocks is engrossing into meditation on a word in which heart beat is used. For example, on word ALLAH, inhale- AL, Exhale-LLAH or a much easier is ALLAH-HOO, Inhale-ALLAH, Exhale-HOO. As the zikr of this word gets faster, so does the heart beat. But two things are still mandatory:
1. A teacher/guide/mentor
2. Person practising should be in divine love
These are mandatory to have the perfect concentration, otherwise just like in namaz/worship all the worldly thoughts and thing-to-do will swarm the mind.

Having said all this, shocks is a very small thing in spirituality. Its almost near to insignificant. Its one of the initial stages of Divine love when a person goes in frenzy on seeing his love and cannot control himself. Its like how a kid screams when he sees his mom and sometimes starts nodding in excitement or tries jumping even while sitting or waves his hands or tries to move to and fro, basically he shows his love but doesn't know how. So that's the first stage, lover cant keep still on seeing his love. Body getting shocks would come next, spirit can't keep still on seeing its love.

Coming to the news, its obvious that the grand-mother knows nothing about divine love, she is not in divine love which means she has No divine powers (Black magic powers possible). Anyone in divine love will never harm another, otherwise Divine love will disappear forever. Black magic is ruled by satan and satan becomes happy and grants powers when innocents are tortured, their blood is spilt and they are killed. Children are innocent, their blood is pure of sins and even worldly diseases (no smoking/drinking even). Killing children/Pure innocent blood grants powers immediately in black rituals. Woman was hungry for black powers, she didnt care if kids die and they died.
Another thing, using worldly methods, like using electricity, gagging, binding, tying up, beating, thrashing, burning or torturing in any sense means no divine love exists. Some people do place a palm (in gloves is better) on affected area. Incense or smoke, water spraying, breathe blowing etc methods are common in exorcism. But honestly, no physical touching scene is best in exorcism.
