Exiled Tibetans elect political heir to Dalai Lama

Yeah? So whats your point?

The point is that India has been long involved in this issue.

No other country poses a greater problem to our territorial sovereignty in Tibet, than India does.

India is the only country that has a border dispute with our Tibetan region, and they happen to be hosting our largest separatist group as well.

So any of the aforementioned hopes that India would be able to stay out of this dispute, are just dreams.

Exiled Tibetans = Tibetan Indians or Stateless Tibetans

Not China's problem. Nukem as Americans like to say.

so what should have Indians done with tibetians in 1959 when they were coming to us just for saving their lives??
its our moral duty to save the refugees and give them shelter and we will continue to do it...

When the Maoists win, we'll host the current GOI in China as an exile government, don't worry.

Naw, they will be in Lake Como, Italy or Lake Geneva enjoying their billions.

This Sangay guy has lived in the US for the past 16 years and was born in India. He's no different from any other Indian-American on this forum.

Too late for that.

India is the only country that has a border dispute with our Tibetan region.

Not to mention that India is also hosting the Tibetan government in exile.

Well if it is too late, then it is too late.

Both the splittist leaders (Tibetan and Uyghurs) have been in the US for quite long and so they know which side of the bread is buttered!!

Let the circus begin!

Fine - we give you permission to do so if and when they win. But Maoists are incapable winning - wrong ideologies have never triumphed in the long run in India.

Apparently the Chinese do not know the UN Charter on Refugees.

Or it goes against their code of conduct.

One doesn't know which is correct to assume.

Exiled Tibetans are welcome to stay in India and the Tibetan govt in exile can choose own leaders. Perhaps one day the Chinese too will be able to learn from the Tibetan govt. in exile and extend universal adult franchise to its poor and downtrodden citizenry.

Fail, China is one of the only 5 permanent members of the UN security council. If they and the other 4 permanent members does not know, then no one does.

In 1959?

That's news that China was a permanent member of the UNSC in 1959!

Were they even in the UN itself?
