Guys, i had a long interesting discussion with Azeri and Turkish pilots.. Azeri pilots said that, by 2020, Azerbaijan wants to purchase t129, they just have to wait, until Turkey produce for itself.. One of the pilot even sit in Atak in March.
I also asked about the price of sicorsky and mi-17. They said Mi-17 cost around 9 million$ and Sicorsky 32 million dollar..
They said, when they drop soldiers, in a Mi-17, Pilot should control the aircraft all the time. But, in a Sicorsky, they got auto pilot, pilot can come 2 meters above the surface and press the key, the helicopter will stay there.. They also mentioned that Turkish pilots fly a lot in the Helicopters. around 2-3 times more than Azeri pilots..

At this point would be quite foolish tbh. Azerbadijani Military doctrine dont exactly coalign with NATO. Not to mentioned their equipment mainly consists of Russian weaponry. Just my two cents though.

Yeah but how do you adapt NATO doctrine when you arent part of it? I think the biggest obstacle is Karabakh, maybe thats why Russia doesnt let it go even though Amenia is volating international law.

Well for starters you can start buying/producing NATO standard/compatible equipment and weaponry. For example Turkish made products(Air defence systems and radars) could be installed into the NATO air defence network and infrastructure. I dont suppose the same could be said for Russian systems. They would need to westernize their whole army and inventory which to be honests seems kinda unrealistic.

Azerbeycan is not NATO member. And Greece succeded to integrate his Soviet made weapons ( estimated 15 % of whole inventory) in his Armed Forces.

What do you think about Azerbaijan joining NATO? I think it would benefit hugely.

even if Azerbaijan had western based military , the government would still prefer to stay neutral

"By 2020", as in "until 2020"? The question is, would the projected number of Ataks in Turkish inventory be achieved by 2020?

Also recently there was this news from Maks-2015.

But honestly I can't take your words too seriously after your previous comments about ships for example. Just like the people you referred to in your previous comments that had no idea of what they were talking about.

Unless there is a cut in military spending (the budget for next years would be revealed in next months), there would be no slowing in rearmament process. And a decrease in military spending is not observed so far. Yes the oil prices affects the revenues negatively, but it doesn't necessarily have to reflect itself in military spending. Even in other oil producing a decrease in military spending is not observed.

27 billion was the oil revenue, you got your facts wrong.

March 28-30, 2015 - Azerbaijan’s oil and gas export for 2014 exceeds $26.6 bn, including $22.1 bn due to AIOC - Caspian Center for Energy and Environment

With current oil prices you would get around 14 billion in oil revenues.

As I said, the gap would be probably filled by additional funds from the state oil fund. That's why you shouldn't expect a sizeable cut in spending for at least next three years. And by that time we can hope that oil prices would rise to previous levels.

Look at other oil producing countries. Algeria filed a budget deficit of 50 billion, and they are not cutting their spending.
