Exclusive: Saudi Arabia threatens to ditch dollar oil trades to stop 'NOPEC'

yes, high oil prices will heat the economies of major oil importing countries for short to medium term but it will be a disastrous condition for oil exporting countries as there will be more push and investment to replace oil with renewable energy and other source of energy....already electric vehicles are gaining lot of popularity and govmt support in Europe..

-Peace
Electric cars indirectly depends on oil and natural resources as to charge such cars electricity is needed and electricity is generated by fuel along with other sources and these electric cars are expensive for third world countries so they continue to buy nonelectric cars

And even in the West..who want to wait 6 hours to recharge his car's battery..I think only rich people are following this electric car trend not to say fashion..as a second or third car..not the day to day practical one..

Agree to some extent when it comes to cost of electric vehicle but not necessarily it will remain high, more research should bring the cost down.

Electricity can be produced without oil so there will not be any dependency on oil when it comes to Electric vehicles.

third world countries are rapidly adopting to new technologies and innovations, iPhones and LED TVs have become common personal and house hold items.

so in my opinion, if major oil producers keep the prices of oil very high, it will be a big loss for them in long term..

aviation sector like commercial planes and defense such as fighter jets will continue to run on oil products so i think oil cannot be eliminated easily in near future from market

yes of course not in near future, but some interesting R&D is being done in that area...meantime enjoy this sci-fi stuff.... :-)

Bullshit. Saudi would never intentionally do anything that could potentially benefit and or strengthen Iran.
