au contraire, India is seeking to by pass Pakistan through sea routes. And by holding the progress of Afghanistan to ransom without allowing land access, you are creating an economically viable need for a Chabar port for India.

It is clear that Pakistan would not allow land connection between India and Afghanistan for the fear of growing Indian influence in Afg - and as a political entity having your own ambitions and security issues, I believe its your right to exercise the option.

However, a little bit of marketing strategy would have been to first allow India access, make a sea route unviable, and then slowly increase the prices/bargain for more to keep the access going.

IMO, Pakistan should have allowed the access with all security riders attached simply to gain more money at the cost of nothing. add a cess to the transporters for all the additional security checks. Along with you CPEC, the IPEC would simply make your country a cross road for rising economic activity. I think Pakistan is missing a trick here.
