EU, Ukraine sign USD 2 billion loan deal at Eastern summit | Zee News

Riga: The European Union and Ukraine have signed a 1.8 billion euro (USD 2 billion) loan deal in an effort to help revive the cash-strapped country's economy.

EU and Ukrainian officials signed the agreement today at a summit of leaders of EU nations and six post-Soviet countries.

The deal requires Ukraine to adopt a series of reforms including anti-corruption measures to remedy structural problems in its economy.

Ukraine's economy contracted by nearly 18 percent in the first quarter of 2015 from a year earlier as the country struggled with the impact of unrest in the industrial heartland of the east.

At the Riga summit, the EU also promised grants of 200 million euros (USD 223 million) to support small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

Ukrainian nazi junta will suck up all that money into their killing brigades to opress the russian minority in Ukraine.

EU wants to genocide all Russians. That is the truth.

. . .
How many times and for how many billions EU has already promised to give to Ukraine as a loans and "help"? And what was actually received? Above mentioned promise for a loan is a sweet pill,a pat on the shoulder for Ukraine - after once again become rejected and received nothing of value from Riga summit. And even such promise will be canceled after incoming and inevitable default .Ukraine needs tens of billions USD just in this year(in few weeks must pay around 5 billions USD to IMF while theoretically having around 9,5 billions USD in reserves). Private creditors refusing to accept Ukrainian demands for now and wants their money.Plus the problems with eu bonds of 3 billions belonging to Russia.None gonna give Ukraine substantial amount of money neither as help or loan.Simply because as Yushchenko (former Ukr president) elegantly put it - “The world is getting tired of the Ukrainian issue … they’ve started swatting Ukraine away like a pesky fly.” And under world he did mean West.

You can't just give them 20 billions while they're in a civil war.Things have to calm down so that Ukraine can receive a bigger loan.

Ukraine gets one billion under U.S. guarantees| Ukrinform
KYIV, June 2 /Ukrinform/. The Ukrainian Government has received one billion U.S. dollars following the issuance of bonds with the U.S. guarantees.

This is reported by the press office of the Finance Ministry of Ukraine.

"$1 billion, proceeded from the bond issuance with the U.S. guarantees, were received on account of the Government of Ukraine," reads the statement.

This was made possible due to signing of the Safeguards Agreement on borrowing between Ukraine and the United States on May 18, 2015.

The agreement is part of the bilateral and multilateral economic support for Ukraine, which includes a four-year IMF program (Extended Fund Facility), and shows an increase in support for the economic reforms of the Ukrainian government. The interest rate on Eurobonds is 1.847% per annum. The interest is paid twice a year (May 29 and November 29). The scheduled maturity term of bonds is May 29, 2020.

KYIV. June 6 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has thanked Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for the extension of $1.5 billion in loan guarantees to Ukraine.

"I am grateful to Japan for extending loan guarantees amounting to $1.5 billion, which should enable us to ensure Ukraine's financial stability," Poroshenko said following negotiations with the Japanese prime minister on Saturday.

Ukrainian deputy presidential chief of staff Valery Chaly had met with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Yasumasa Nagamine in May to discuss the provision of financial aid to Ukraine.

"Valery Chaly thanked the Japanese side for large-scale financial assistance for Ukraine, in particular, the issuance of $1.5-billion worth of loan assistance for the implementation of a number of development support projects. The Ukrainian deputy presidential chief of staff also positively took the Japanese government's decision on extending additional aid to Ukraine in an amount of $316.6 million for national economy stabilization and support of reforms," the Ukrainian presidential press service reported at the time.

Japan had decided to allocate $16.6 million for the restoration of the socioeconomic infrastructure in a number of districts in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions affected by the hostilities.

Again another to say at least mis-information by you.Nowhere in your post are the facts as per Japanese Ambassador in Ukraine.
As the fact money will be spend via strict international control(none is believing the thieves in Kiev).
As the fact money will be given exclusively for waste recycling.
As the fact if Japan caught Ukraine in misuse of the money(a given thing) Japan will want the entire loan back.
As the fact almost entire(speaking for about 1,1 billion USD) loan will be used for upgrading just the only one of Kiev recycling/water recycling whatever is translation in English plant.
