ETIM carried out Chinese embassy bomb attack: official
Source:Reuters Published: 2016/9/7 0:33:39

A suicide bomb attack on the Chinese embassy in the Kyrgyz capital last week was ordered by Uyghur militants active in Syria and carried out by a member of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), Kyrgyzstan's state security service said on Tuesday.

The suicide bomber, whose car rammed the gates of the embassy on August 30, was an ethnic Uyghur who held a Tajik passport in the name of Zoir Khalilov, the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) said in a statement.

Three embassy staff suffered minor injuries in the attack and were taken to hospital. China condemned the attack and urged Kyrgyz authorities to quickly investigate.

"The investigation established that the terrorist act was ordered by Uyghur terrorist groups active in Syria and affiliated to the terrorist organization the Nusra Front whose emissaries ... financed the terrorist action," the GKNB said.

Listed as a terrorist organization by the United States and Russia, the Nusra Front has renamed itself Jabhat Fatah al-Sham and said in July it had ended its relationship with al Qaeda.

The attack on the Chinese embassy was coordinated through a native of Kyrgyzstan living in Turkey, the Kyrgyz secret service said.

Listed as a terrorist organisation by the United States and Russia, the Nusra Front has renamed itself Jabhat Fatah al-Sham and said in July it had ended its relationship with al Qaeda.

The attack on the Chinese embassy was coordinated through a native of Kyrgyzstan living in Turkey, the Kyrgyz secret service said.

It said an arrest warrant had been issued for another native of southern Kyrgyzstan, an explosives specialist trained in Syria and holder of a Tajik passport, who helped to prepare the attack but flew to Istanbul several hours before the explosion.

Five Kyrgyz citizens suspected of complicity in the bomb attack have been detained, the GKNB said. An international arrest warrant has been issued for two other Kyrgyz citizens living in Turkey, it said.

Apart from the ethnic Uighur suspected of having carried out the attack, all the others accused of ordering, financing and preparing it come from two southern Kyrgyz regions in the Ferghana Valley.

The fertile but overpopulated and largely impoverished valley, which Kyrgyzstan shares with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan has become a source of radical Islamists in Central Asia, from where hundreds of young people have gone to fight for Islamic State and its allies in Syria.

Kyrgyzstan shares a remote, mountainous border with China's Xingjiang province where Beijing has fought ethnic Uighur separatists for decades.

It is time Turkey get rid of this terrorist group. ETIM can bring 0 interests to Turkey while all risk.

Always kill those terrorist when they are yet to spread their terror in big way. In this sense, China always step ahead in eliminating the terrorists. India should learn from China.

hope Turkey can hand over the four terrorists.

Remember Turkey is a NATO member and whoever is supporting and hiding these Terrorist in Turkey must have a quite an influence on Turkey foreign Policy. And all we have to do is to look into this matter, now we have 28 NATO members at current. If we look at every single NATO member states interest we will find out that except one none of the other NATO member states has any interests in destabilizing China's Xingjiang province. I couldn't find one, but off course US has many interests in destabilizing that region, (and so as India, but we will discuss India some other time) it simply cannot digest the fact that China is indeed close to become a super power of the world. It all started long time ago, proxy wars like these takes ages to built up momentum. From providing Training, gears and changing minds of the locals by spreading propaganda to internationally condemn the human rights violations by the hostile nations are all major parts of these 4th generations wars. As I once read this article it says;

ISIS: Washington’s Global Expeditionary Force

If one was asked to name a global-spanning military and intelligence operation opposed to Syria, Iran, Russia, and China, they might say the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the US Government – and they would be right. But they could also easily answer by saying the “Islamic State” or ISIS/ISIL as it is also known. This is especially true after revelations surfaced that US-backed Uyghur separatists in China’s western-most province of Xinjiang have joined ISIS for training with intentions of leading an armed rebellion against Beijing upon their return.

Chinese militants from the western region of Xinjiang have fled from the country to get “terrorist training” from Islamic State group fighters for attacks at home, state media reported on Monday.

The report was the first time state-run media had linked militants from Xinjiang, home to ethnic minority Uighur Muslims, to militants of the Islamic State group of radical Sunni Muslims.

China’s government has blamed a surge of violence over the past year on Islamist militants from Xinjiang who China says are fighting for an independent state called East Turkestan.

However, it isn’t just China’s government that claims militants in Xinjiang seek to carve out an independent state in western China – the militants themselves have stated as much, and the United States government fully backs their agenda to do so. Indeed, first and foremost in backing the Xinjiang Uyghur separatists is the United States through the US State Department’s National Endowment for Democracy (NED). For China, the Western region referred to as “Xinjiang/East Turkistan” has its own webpage on NED’s site covering the various fronts funded by the US which include:

Now we all know why ISIS was created, if someone says he or she doesn't know that might be our Indian members on this forum. If ISIS was created to destabilize middle east than it can also be used to counter other Nations who are considered a threat to US and its allays interests.

Now China somehow has made UK to realize that it can be really devastating for UK to help CIA in it's covert operations along the border of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. How it did it, well it is always quite complicated to figure it out as now a days Nations around the world has so many interests linked to each other. And President Xi Jinping 2015 visit to UK certainly represents those interests.

In order to tackle China's influence in Central Asian Countries this is what US has to come up with.

On Aug. 3 U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met in Washington with foreign ministers of the five Central Asian states (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan). This new so-called “C5+1” format that first appeared in October 2015 aims to reinforce regional cooperation on a broad range of issues, including economic integration, the environment and climate change, human rights and security.

And this is what US was expected to do. I know this article is quite long to read, but it will help you guys to understand why Central Asian Countries are so important for the US foreign Policy and its own interests and would it be easy for the CIA to destabilize Xinjiang if US succeed in building its influence in Central Asian states? And I would suggest my fellow members to dig deep in finding out that why is Afghanistan so important to US foreign Policy? What is it in Afghanistan that is forcing US not to withdraw its forces completely from Afghanistan?

Thank you for the long input with comprehensive sources.

Turkey foreign policy is under Nato influences, when US and UK as two leaders of Nato have publicly listed ETIM as terrorist organization, this trend will have effect on Turkey foreign too. Turkey won't meet strong diplomatic oppose from US if it get rid of ETIM hiding there. Don't forget the recent two years, Turkey suffered much more terrible than China from terrorism. ETIM is far away from China, it's impossible they come back China in mass number and we have built up the national scale anti-terror system effectively. Now China is building the anti-terror network with neighboring nations. ETIM as rubbish meat-bomber, they can't do any contribution to Turkish economic or social construction. Turkey helding them like helding a time-bomb, for example, this attack in Kyrgyzstan doen't impact China-Kyrgyzstan relationship, but it does impact Turkey-Kyrgyzstan relationship. Kyrgyz government has required publicly Turkey find and send those conspiracy back. Or some of ETIM militants hiding in Turkey may make terror attacks in host region.

And what US was expected to do doesn't mean it is able to do. Obviously the Central Asia nations are very important for the US foreign policy. But it's not like in 1950's one American statement or one "calls upon" can achieve a goal, nowadays America has to invest real gold, visible interests to Central Asia, otherwise his intention is only remainning on the expection stage. This input fund may be a huge number, America can't stand for a long time like they are hesitating in Afghanistan whether staying or withdrawing.

Anyway, China will continue to unite most part of people in Xinjiang to fight against ETIM. Chinese Uighur community is much more stable and vivid than Turkish Kurd community. Growing and making better life is mainstream social mindset. However, we continue to give terrorists iron-tough suppression to maitain the social going in right direction.

There will come a day in the near future that China regrets allowing American NGOs to operate in China. This is the equivalent of allowing a killer into your house.

These foreign NGOs, charities, education institutions are all designed to undermine the Communist Part of China and thus destabilise China.

When you destabilise a country politically, the economy collapses, the technological advancement stops, military advancement stops. Result: No more challenge to the Empire of Chaos.

Make no mistake, the US aim for both China and Russia is regime change. Militarily the US will never go to war with either Russia or China. So the only option is to use NGOs, charities, educational institutions to build an internal army of opposition.

Russia has started to kick out these NGOs.

So the Yanks try another route, this time to damage the Russian economy through sanctions so that it will hurt the ordinary Russian and make them turn against Putin.

Both Russia and China must be aware of American economic blackmail.

China must get rid of these NGOs, charities, educational institutions in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

That's exactly why Turkey cannot be trusted. Turkey harbors numerous Uighur terror cells which are religiously the most fanatical.

These people compose one of the cores of Turkey-supported terrorist groups operating in Syria now under the banner of Free Syrian Army, a.k.a, Al Nusra.
